CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION Minutes of April 12, 2004 - Regular Meeting Page 4 of I~ Legal Advertisement: Affected property owners were notified of the proposed change via a letter sent from Maggie Ketcham, Seminole County Addressing, on March 26, 2003. (A copy of Ms. Ketcham's March 26, 2003 letter is attached to and made a part of these minutes.) Staff Presentation: Chief Pavlis stated Ordinance 04-1128 provides for the name change of a segment of State Road 436 to improve public safety responses to that area. The ordinance is necessary pursuant to City Code. Ms. Ketcham, Seminole County Addressing, came forward and requested favorable action on Ordinance 04-1128. Mr. Clifton suggested changing the name to something that identifies the area as being part of Casselberry. Mr. Clifton noted the public safety concerns would still be addressed by the renumbering and change of name, whether that change was East Altamonte Drive or Casselberry Boulevard. Public Hearing: Mayor Pronovost asked if there was anyone in the audience that wished to speak either for or against Ordinance 04-1128. The following individuals came forward: 1) John Cassclberry, 700 South Lost Lake Lane, spoke in opposition to Ordinance 04-1128. 2) Kerry Beth Stoddard, 20 Old Barn Way, spoke in opposition to Ordinance 04-1128. No one else came forward. Mayor Pronovost closed the public heating. Commission Discussion: Discussion ensued regarding the possibility of renaming State Road 436 within the Casselberry City lirrfits and potential impacts to the affected businesses. Ms. Ketcham stated should the City decide to change the name of the requested segment to anything other than East Altamonte Drive, the affected property and business owners would have to be notified again, since they were originally notified of the change a year ago and have already been utilizing the new East Altamonte addresses for some f~me. Consensus of the City Commission was to modify Ordinance 04-1128 renaming the entire stretch of State Road 436 within the city limits to identify Casselber~ with the name Casselberry Boulevard. MOTION: Commissioner Hart moved to modify Ordinance 04- 1128 to reflect Casselberry Boulevard instead of East AItamonte Drive and to impose the name change to the entire stretch of State Road of 436 within the city limits. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Doerner. Motion carried unanimously by roll callvote. Roll Call Vote of the City Commission: Commissioner Doerner - Yes; Commissioner Cook - Yes; Commissioner Hart - Yes; Mayor Pronovost - Yes. Motion passed 4 - 0. MOTION: Commissioner Doerner moved to continue the first reading of Ordinance 04-1128 to the April 26, 2004 City Commission meeting. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Hart. Motion carried unanimously by roll call vote.
