<br />CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of February 26, 2007 - Regular Meeting <br />Page8ofl0 <br /> <br />Commission Consensus: Commission consensus was to change the general election to the state primary <br />election in September and any necessary run-off election would occur with the state general election in <br />November. <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />DISCUSSION: <br /> <br />Commissioner Miller moved to have the City Attorney <br />amend tbe draft charter referendum ordinance to <br />reflect the City's general election to coincide with the <br />state primary election in September and any necessary <br />run-off election to coincide with tbe state general <br />election in November, and to have tbe City Attorney <br />send the amended draft ordinance to tbe Seminole <br />County Supervisor of Elections for review, suggestions <br />and approval. Motion was seconded by Commissioner <br />Hufford. <br /> <br />Mayor Goff requested that another charter referendum question be added to clarify <br />when seating of newly elected officials will occur after the November State General <br />Election. The City Attorney stated she would research the matter to see whether or <br />not the seating change could be done by ordinance versus referendum. Commission <br />consensus was to have the City Attorney and staff research the matter further. <br /> <br />Motion carried unanimously by voice vote 5 - O. <br /> <br />14. CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br /> <br />. Reported the Florida League of Cities has been issuing numerous legislative action alerts regarding <br />the property tax reform issues being discussed by the State Legislature. <br /> <br />15. CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br /> <br />Reported a motion for summary judgement hearing is scheduled for February 27, 2007 with <br />Casselberry Investment Properties (CIP) seeking quiet title to some property located on Cypress Way <br />and Lemon Lane near the cemetery. <br /> <br />16. CITY CLERK'S REPORT <br /> <br />. No report. <br />
