ANNOUNCEMENT Staff Presentation: Ms. Barbara Lipscomb, City Manager, announced the Saticoy Investments Company has requested a public hearing for a Brownfield designation on the property located at 1150 Belle Avenue. A Brownfield designation will facilitate environmental remediation for redevelopment and reuse of the site. The program is administered by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. A public hearing must be held before the City Commission to request the designation and an announcement of said public hearing must be made at a scheduled meeting of the City Commission. The requested public hearing has been scheduled for the February 25, 2007 City Commission meeting. Property owners within 500 feet were notified, the site was posted and advertising provided. 13. DISCUSSION ITEMS Mayor Goff requested the City Commission discuss the movement across the State for tornado siren systems. Commission consensus was to defer the matter since it was currently under review at the County level and there may be implementation of a Countywide system. Commissioner Hufford voiced concerns about the Mayor not being able to attend the last Mayors and Managers meeting and felt the City Commission should have an alternate to go in his place when he cannot attend. Mayor Goff stated no other Mayor has sent an alternate to the meetings, but he would place the matter on the group's next agenda for discussion. The City Attorney noted the Mayors and Managers group was not a formal group and did not have formal rules of procedure. 14. CITY MANAGER'S REPORT . Thanked the City Commission for giving her the opportunity to serve in the City of Casselberry. . Reported a retreat/workshop for the City Commission has been scheduled for Saturday, February 17,2007 and will be held in the Police Multi-Purpose Room beginning at 8:30 a.m. . Noted a retreat will be scheduled for Department Directors after the City Commission retreat. . Reported interviews have been scheduled for February 19, 2007 for the Community Development Director position. . Reported since her arrival she has had numerous meetings with staff and consultants regarding the City Center Project. . Reported she attended the FCCMA Winter Institute on February 7, 2007. . Reported ICMA has approved her certification as a Credentialed Manager. . Reported she will be attending the State ofthe County address on February 16, 2007.
