CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION
Minutes of September 11, 2006 - Executive Session & Regular Meeting
Page 10 of 12

MOTION:

Commissioner Hufford moved to approve funding in
the amount of $24,897 for the 2006 Community
Matching Grant Program as outlined as recommended
by the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board and outlined
in Mr. Miller's September 1, 2006 memorandum to the
City Commission. Motion was seconded by
Commissioner Doerner. Motion carried unanimously
5 - 0 by voice vote.

13. DISCUSSION ITEMS

No items were presented.

14. CITY MANAGER'S REPORT

Noted the September 8, 2006 Friday Letter contained a list of goals from the Department Directors
which was a result of the August 1,2006 Directors retreat facilitated by Marilyn Crotty at Seminole
Community College. Suggested the City Commission meet with the Directors after the upcoming
election regarding the goals to help set priorities for the Directors.

15.

CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT

.

Reported the Fifth District Court of Appeals did not issue an opinion on the Rachel's case, but simply
affirmed Judge Nelson's ruling granting summary judgement in favor of the City and because it was
a PCA, it will be virtually impossible for Rachel's to take the case any further.

16.

CITY CLERK'S REPORT

.

Noted as reported in the September 8, 2006 Friday Letter, originally the City Clerk's Office planned
on scheduling a makeup session in October for those board members who were unable to attend the
training session held on September 6, 2006, but since that number was relatively low, suggested it
would be more cost effective to wait until after new board appointments are made in January 2007
to offer the next training session. Unanimous consensus of the City Commission was to offer the next
board training session after new board appointments are made in January 2007.
