CITY COMMISSION REPORTS/COMMENTS <br /> <br />Commissioner Susan Doerner - Seat # I: <br />Congratulated Catherine Reischmann and Anthony Garganese on the recent Rachel's lawsuit <br />decision. <br /> <br />Commissioner Kathy L. Cook - Seat #2: <br />. Inquired if Mr. Pinter has contacted the City recently regarding relocating Club Juana. Mrs. <br />Reischmann stated Mr. Pinter has not contacted the City recently in that regard. <br /> <br />Commissioner Colleen S. Hufford - Seat #4: <br />. Noted Karen Willis, Executive Director of the Early Learning Coalition of Seminole, had requested <br />each city contribute $7,500 toward matching funds for subsidized child care and reading readiness <br />program. Mr. Miller stated that it has been past practice of the City to not subsidize any non-profit <br />charitable organizations, but should the Commission choose to do so in the future, it should adopt <br />strict criteria and budget accordingly to deal with such requests. <br />. Noted the Community United Methodist Church will be celebrating its 60th anniversary in October <br />and requested that a proclamation be prepared in recognition of the anniversary. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Linda C. Hart - Seat #3: <br />Thanked Mr. Miller for implementation ofthe Friday Letter from the City Manager. <br />. Reported Seminole Community College (SCC) hosted the September 6, 2006 Council of Local <br />Governments In Seminole County (CALNO) meeting. Mike Staley, Dean of Economic Development <br />and Business Services, gave a presentation regarding the new SCC facility on International Parkway <br />in Heathrow. Further noted Mr. Staley made an announcement that a fast growing company called <br />PMH Resources is currently looking for a place in Seminole County to locate their headquarters and <br />if any city is interested, they could contact him for more information. Vice Mayor Hart suggested the <br />retail center on the corner of U.S. Highway 17-92 and State Road 436 as a possible location feeling <br />it may be better suited for a business complex. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Mayor Bob Goff - Seat #5: <br />Reported he has received two inquiries regarding purchasing property in the industrial park on Belle <br />A venue which he has turned over to the City Manager. <br />Noted Meals on Wheels made a request for a contribution within the last month, and the City <br />Manager recommended that the City not make a contribution. Further noted similar contribution <br />requests will be forthcoming from Leadership Seminole and other groups. <br />Reported he participated in the Government Session for Leadership Seminole on September 8, 2006. <br />Noted the Lisa Merlin house is almost ready to open and will help many people in the community. <br />Noted the next Mayors' and Managers' meeting is scheduled to be held on September 14, 2006 and <br />the City will be hosting that meeting. <br />Noted the September 12, 2006 Board of County Commission's agenda includes an item requesting <br />approval of an interlocal agreement between Seminole County and the City of Casselberry for the <br />funding, design and construction of a multi-use trail through residential Casselberry and <br />unincorporated Seminole County connecting parks, schools and neighborhoods. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br />
