CITY COMMISSION REPORTS/COMMENTS Commissioner Susan Doerner - Seat # I: Congratulated Catherine Reischmann and Anthony Garganese on the recent Rachel's lawsuit decision. Commissioner Kathy L. Cook - Seat #2: . Inquired if Mr. Pinter has contacted the City recently regarding relocating Club Juana. Mrs. Reischmann stated Mr. Pinter has not contacted the City recently in that regard. Commissioner Colleen S. Hufford - Seat #4: . Noted Karen Willis, Executive Director of the Early Learning Coalition of Seminole, had requested each city contribute $7,500 toward matching funds for subsidized child care and reading readiness program. Mr. Miller stated that it has been past practice of the City to not subsidize any non-profit charitable organizations, but should the Commission choose to do so in the future, it should adopt strict criteria and budget accordingly to deal with such requests. . Noted the Community United Methodist Church will be celebrating its 60th anniversary in October and requested that a proclamation be prepared in recognition of the anniversary. Vice Mayor Linda C. Hart - Seat #3: Thanked Mr. Miller for implementation ofthe Friday Letter from the City Manager. . Reported Seminole Community College (SCC) hosted the September 6, 2006 Council of Local Governments In Seminole County (CALNO) meeting. Mike Staley, Dean of Economic Development and Business Services, gave a presentation regarding the new SCC facility on International Parkway in Heathrow. Further noted Mr. Staley made an announcement that a fast growing company called PMH Resources is currently looking for a place in Seminole County to locate their headquarters and if any city is interested, they could contact him for more information. Vice Mayor Hart suggested the retail center on the corner of U.S. Highway 17-92 and State Road 436 as a possible location feeling it may be better suited for a business complex. . Mayor Bob Goff - Seat #5: Reported he has received two inquiries regarding purchasing property in the industrial park on Belle A venue which he has turned over to the City Manager. Noted Meals on Wheels made a request for a contribution within the last month, and the City Manager recommended that the City not make a contribution. Further noted similar contribution requests will be forthcoming from Leadership Seminole and other groups. Reported he participated in the Government Session for Leadership Seminole on September 8, 2006. Noted the Lisa Merlin house is almost ready to open and will help many people in the community. Noted the next Mayors' and Managers' meeting is scheduled to be held on September 14, 2006 and the City will be hosting that meeting. Noted the September 12, 2006 Board of County Commission's agenda includes an item requesting approval of an interlocal agreement between Seminole County and the City of Casselberry for the funding, design and construction of a multi-use trail through residential Casselberry and unincorporated Seminole County connecting parks, schools and neighborhoods. . .
