<br />and the rules applicable to such use. <br /> <br />(h) Swimming, bathing or walking in waters or waterways. No person shall <br />swim, bathe or walk in any natural waters or waterways in or adjacent to any Park. <br /> <br />(i) Special activities. It shall be unlawful to engage in special activities, <br />including but not limited to flying model airplanes, golf practice/games, except at <br />locations specifically designated for such activities by the Parks Director and the City <br />Commission. Areas for such activities may be reserved by groups for use at specified <br />times. <br /> <br />U) Live and mechanical amusements. It shall be unlawful for any person to <br />operate a mechanized amusement ride or game in any portion of the City Parks or <br />recreation areas, including but not limited to the following: <br /> <br />(1) Carnival riding devises such as merry-go-rounds, ferris <br />wheels, mechanical swings, etc. <br />(2) Mechanized kiddie rides used exclusively for the <br />entertainment of children. <br />(3) Amusement arcade games. <br /> <br />(k) Exemption for City-sponsored events. City-sponsored events are exempt <br />from the provisions of subsection U) of this section. <br /> <br />Section 60-4. Permit for QrOUD activities. <br /> <br />(a) Whenever any group, association or organization desires to use City Park <br />facilities for a particular purpose, such as picnics, parties or theatrical or entertainment <br />performances, or organized sports practice or games, a representative of such group, <br />association or organization shall first obtain a permit from the Parks Department for such <br />purposes. The City Commission may adopt an application form to be used by the Parks <br />Department for such situations. <br /> <br />(b) The Parks Department shall grant the application if it appears that the <br />group, association or organization will not interfere with the general use of the City Park <br />by the individual members of the public and if the group, association or organization <br />meets all conditions contained in the application. The application may contain a <br />requirement for an indemnity bond to protect the City from any liability of any kind or <br />character and to protect City property from damage. <br /> <br />Section 60-5. Use of Dicnic areas. <br /> <br />Employees of the City Parks Department shall have authority to regulate the <br />activities in picnic areas when necessary to prevent congestion and to secure the <br /> <br />Ordinance No. 06-1189 <br />Page 5 of 11 <br />
