(24) Hospital means any institution where medical or surgical care is given to non-ambulatory and ambulatory patients. Hospitals do not include facilities that provide diagnoses and are only for outpatients (see medical office) nor do they include facilities that are devoted to the care of persons unable to care for themselves (see nursing homes). (25) Hotel means a place of lodging providing sleeping accommodations, restaurants, cocktail lounges, meeting and banquet rooms, and other retail and service shops. (26) Land means the earth, water and air above, below, or on the surface, and includes any improvements or structures customarily regarded as land. (27) Light Industrial means a facility usually employing less than 500 persons, and has an emphasis on activities other than manufacturing. These may include but are not limited to printing plants, material testing laboratories, assemblers of data processing equipment, and power stations. (28) Manufacturing means places where raw materials or parts are converted into finished products. (29) Medical Office means a facility for individual or small groups of physicians, that provide diagnosis and outpatient care including dental care, but not prolonged in-house medical and surgical care. (30) Mini-warehouse means a building in which a storage unit or vault is rented for the storage of goods. (31) Motel means a place of lodging offering only sleeping accommodations and possibly a restaurant. (32) Movie Theater means a facility which consists of audience seating, single or multiple screens and auditoriums, a lobby, and a refreshment stand. (33) Multi-purpose Recreation means a facility which contains two or more recreational land uses combined at one site. For example: miniature golf, batting cages, video arcade, bumper boats, go-carts and golf driving ranges. (34) New Structure means a structure for which the Building Permit was issued on or after the effective date of this Ordinance. (35) Non-residential Structure means any Building, which encloses space for the occupancy by persons or their activities, other than residential dwellings, including but not limited to professional buildings, commercial and industrial buildings, hotels, and motels.
