City Commission Meeting April 24, 2006 Page 8 Commissioner Hart spoke in favor of extending the CRA for the ten-year period to 2025. Commissioner Cook was opposed to the ten-year extension and stated that it was premature and should be delayed until soil testing have been completed on the site for the civic center and parking garage. She indicated that the issue of the civic center and parking garage should be placed on the ballot for the November election and the voters say if they are willing to fund the civic center, then the extension of the CRA would not be necessary. MOTION: Moved by Commissioner Susan Doerner to approve Resolution 06-1672, to extend the Casselberry Community Redevelopment Agency's Term from 2015 to 2025, as presented. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Colleen S. Hufford and carried on a 3 - 2 vote. Mayor Goff and Commissioner Cook dissenting. Resolution 06-1673 - Code of Boardmanship The City Clerk read Resolution 06-1673 by title as follows: "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, ADOPTING A CODE OF BOARDMANSHIP POLICY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE." Staff Presentation: Item presented at the request of Mayor Goff and prepared by the City Attorney. Commissioner Hufford stated that it should be noted that issue was addressed two years ago by Commissioner Doerner who requested the item be considered by the Commission, but it was never brought back to the Commission for action. MOTION: Moved by Commissioner Susan Doerner to approve Resolution 06-1673, Boardmanship Policy, as presented. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Colleen S. Hufford and carried on a 5 - 0 vote. 12. Commission Reports/Requests Commissioner Deemer - No Report Commissioner Cook - Appreciated the $5,000 donation that was given for the Leadership Seminole Class Project.
