CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br />No items were presented under the Consent Agenda. <br /> <br />10. OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br />A. APPROV ALOF "REVITALIZING CASSELBERRY" PLAN DATED FEBRUARY <br />8.2006 <br /> <br />Staff Presentation: Mr. Stampfler stated that the Commission was in receipt of a report dated February 8, <br />2006, entitled "Revitalizing Casselbeny", which covered two projects (I) the Casselbeny City Center which <br />would be undertaken by Unicorp National Developments, Inc. and (2) the Casselbeny Civic Center which <br />would be undertaken by the City ofCasselbeny. The report has been publicized on the City's website and <br />made available to the public for over two weeks. Mr. Stampfler further stated that after months of <br />negotiations and a lot of support from the community, the details and calculations have been worked out to <br />allow the projects to move forward. The Community Redevelopment Agency reviewed this matter at its <br />February 17,2006 meeting and unanimously approved the sale of CRA property as presented in the request. <br />A total of approximately 42 million dollars for the Unicorp Center project is proposed to be spent and a total <br />of 13.5 million dollars is proposed to be spent for the civic center and it's accompanying parking facility. <br />Mr. Stampfler stated the intent of the Administration is to bring forward in quick succession, over the next <br />year, several other projects that will aide the community in revitalizing and removing the blight from its <br />midst. Mr. Stampfler stated the projects will have many spin off economic benefits, other than the dollar <br />values, and recommended adoption of the "Revitalizing Casselbeny" plan in totality. <br /> <br />Audience Participation: Twelve (12) audience comment request forms were received for this item. The <br />following individuals came forward: <br /> <br />I. Arlin Armour, 2027 Cree Trail, spoke in favor of the "Revitalizing Casselbeny" plan. <br /> <br />2. Hal Billerbeck, 531 Sundown Trail, spoke in favor of the "Revitalizing Casselbeny" <br />plan. <br /> <br />3. Ed Mathieu, 405 Misty Oaks Run, spoke in favor of the "Revitalizing Casselbeny" plan. <br /> <br />4. Phyllis Sheppard, 580 South Triplet Lake Drive, spoke in favor of the "Revitalizing <br />Casselbeny" plan. <br /> <br />5. Jon Miller, 380 Jefferson Drive, spoke in favor of the "Revitalizing Casselbeny" plan <br />and recommended the Commission move forward with the projects without further delay. <br /> <br />6. Malcolm MacDiarmid, Semoran Financial Corporation, 237 Fernwood Boulevard, Fern <br />Park, spoke in favor ofthe "Revitalizing Casselbeny" plan. He stated his organization was <br />created for the purpose of headquartering a bank in the new Casselbeny City Center <br />project. Mr. MacDiarmid stated the plan is for a two story, 20,000 square foot building <br />
