Resolution 06-1644 - Traffic Signal Upgrades & Related Budget Transfer ($25,530.00) <br /> <br />The City Clerk read Resolution 06-1644 by title as follows: <br /> <br />"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE <br />EXECUTION OF ACCEPTANCE OF A PROPOSAL FROM NAZTEC, INC. TO PROVIDE <br />ALL EQUIPMENT AND SERVICES TO UPGRADE THREE (3) TRAFFIC SIGNAL <br />CABINETS: PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND EFFECTIVE DATE." <br /> <br />Staff Presentation: Resolution 06-1644 authorizes a proposal from Naztec, Inc. to upgrade three traffic <br />signal cabinets on Winter Park Drive. Seminole County Traffic Engineering has agreed to install the <br />Opticom Upgrades at the three locations at no cost to the City. The quote of$25,530 from Naztec, Inc. was <br />pre-qualified by Seminole County and is based on the competitively bid purchase agreement with Seminole <br />County. The approximate time for delivery of equipment is 120 days from issuance of the Notice to <br />proceed; all work is to be completed within 2 - 3 weeks of receipt of the equipment. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: Approval of Resolution 06-1644 with a Budget Transfer of $25,530 for funding <br />of the upgrades. <br /> <br />Audience InDut: John Casselberry, 700 S. Lost Lake Lane, recommended the City install generators at larger <br />intersections for use during hurricanes. <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Moved by Commissioner Susan Doerner to approve <br />Resolution 06-1644, Traffic Light Signal Upgrades, as <br />presented. The motion was seconded by Commissioner <br />Linda Hart and carried unanimously by voice vote. <br />(5 - 0) <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Moved by Commissioner Susan Doerner to approve <br />budget transfer 06-19 in the amount of $25,530 to fnnd <br />the Opticom Intersection Upgrades. The motion was <br />seconded by Commissioner Linda Hart and carried <br />unanimously by voice vote. (5 - 0) <br /> <br />J. Resolution 06-1645 - Amending Public Meeting Policies & Procedures to Add Rotational Voting <br /> <br />Mayor Goff stated opposition to this item being considered; that the policy being utilized regarding meeting <br />procedures had been in place for over ten years and he was oppossed to the item going forward. <br /> <br />Commissioner Hufford stated that the Commission has the right to bring forth any item any item they feel <br />needs to be changed and the item should go forward for consideration. <br />
