<br />"Drug Store" shall mean retail facilities that primarily sell prescription and <br />non-prescription drugs. These facilities may also sell cosmetics, toiletries, medications, <br />stationary, personal care products, limited food products, and general merchandise. <br /> <br />"Dwelling Unit" or "DU" shall mean a building, or portion thereof, designed for <br />residential occupancy, consisting of one or more rooms which are arranged, designed or <br />used as living quarters for one family only. <br /> <br />"Encumbered" shall mean monies committed by contract or purchase order in a <br />manner that obligates the City to expend the encumbered amount upon delivery of goods <br />or completion of services or conveyance of right-of-way by a vendor, supplier, contractor <br />or owner. <br /> <br />"External Trip" shall mean any new trip which either has its origins from or its <br />destination to the road impact construction, and which has an impact upon the major road <br />system. <br /> <br />"Furniture Store" shall mean a store which specializes in the sale of furniture, and <br />often carpeting. They are generally large and include storage areas. <br /> <br />"Gambling" shall mean a business that provides pari-mutual wagering or similar <br />activities and may include refreshments and alcoholic beverages. <br /> <br />"Golf Courses" shall mean an area designed for playing the game of golf, including <br />any clubhouse, with or without bar and banquet facilities. <br /> <br />"Hardware Store" shall mean free standing buildings with off street parking and offer <br />hardware and painting supplies. <br /> <br />"Home Improvement Superstore" shall mean free-standing warehouse type facilities <br />which offer a variety of customer services and centralized cashiering. They specialize in <br />the sale of home improvement merchandise such as lumber, tools, paint, lighting, <br />wallpaper and paneling, kitchen and bathroom fixtures, lawn equipment and garden plants <br />and accessories. <br /> <br />"Hospital" shall mean any institution where medical or surgical care is given to non- <br />ambulatory and ambulatory patients. Hospitals do not include facilities that provide <br />diagnoses and are only for outpatients (See Medical Office) nor do they include facilities <br />that are devoted to the care of persons unable to care for themselves (See Nursing <br />Homes). <br /> <br />Page 6 of 27 <br />
