Base courses acceptable to the City shall be eight inches <br />thick for all collector and arterial streets and all streets in a commercial or <br />industrial subdivision, and six inches thick for Q¡;aLresidential sellestsr and <br />IeGal-streets. Base courses shall consist of compacted Ocala limerock or <br />soil cemenL"meetina the reauirements of the Florida Deaartment of <br />Transaortation Standard Saecifications for Road and Bridae Construction <br />IFDOT Std. Saecs) Base courses shall extend six inches beyond the edge <br />of the paving where curb and gutter is omitted. The tolerance of base <br />course thickness shall be +/- 0 5 inches. <br />(1) Limerock base course. <br />a. Limerock base courses, including the materials to be used, <br />shall be constructed in accordance with the latest applicable <br />e:tata èefJaFlR'lSAt of traAS3sFlation FDOTspecifications, and <br />shall be campacted in one layer if six inches thick, or two <br />layers if eight inches thick. <br />b. Following compaction, written test results shall be submitted <br />showing not less than Q& 98 percent of the mModified <br />Proctor maximum density for samples taken not more than <br />every 250 feet apart, alternating from side to center, and the <br />like, or, in addition, wherever the !;;A€jiAseriA€j -Construction <br />Inspector may require. <br />c. Tests shall be required for each layer if construction is in <br />two layers. The contractor shall make borings in areas <br />designated by the !;;A€jiRosriA€j Construction Inspector, to <br />enable measurement of thickness. <br />d.
