<br />CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of May 9, 2005 - Regular Meeting <br />Page 8 of 12 <br /> <br />Commission Discussion: Discussion ensued regarding the adult entertainment issues and anticipated <br />appraisal value ofthe subject property. Commissioner Doerner, Commissioner Hufford and Vice Mayor Hart <br />were supportive of pursuing the purchase to help eliminate the possibility of another adult entertainment <br />establishment operating on the property. Mayor Goff was opposed to pursuing the matter stating to his <br />knowledge the owner of Cabaret is not talking to others in the adult entertainment industry to continue the <br />use at this site, and voiced concerns regarding the price of the property and resale of the property as raw <br />land. Commissioner Cook stated she was opposed to adult entertainment establishments, but could not <br />support pursuing such a large expenditure for the property for a very limited exposure for the re- <br />establishment of adult entertainment ou the site. <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Commissioner Doerner moved to go forward with <br />exploring the purchase/resale of the 2 acre parcel <br />located on U.S. Highway 17-92 and on Lake Concord, <br />north ofthe Police Station, as outlined in Mr. Clifton's <br />May 2, 2005 inter-office memoraudum to the City <br />Commission. Motion was seconded by Vice Mayor <br />Hart. Motion carried 3 - 2 (Commissioner Cook and <br />Mayor Goff dissenting) by voice vote. <br /> <br />F. DISCUSSION & CONSIDERATION FOR APPOINTMENT - JOINT CITY- <br />COUNTY ADVISORY COMMITTEE <br /> <br />Commission Discussion: The Joint City-County Advisory Committee has been formed to review county and <br />municipal services and structure thereof to ensure effective and efficient public service delivery. <br />Commissioner Hufford nominated Commissioner Doerner for appointment to the Joint City-County Advisory <br />Committee to serve along with Mayor Goff as the City's representatives. Unanimous Commission <br />consensus was to appoint Commissioner Doerner to the Joint City-County Advisory Committee. <br /> <br />G. DISCUSSION & CONSIDERATION FOR APPOINTMENT - SEMINOLE <br />COUNTY ALLIANCE FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES <br /> <br />Commission Discussion: The purpose of the Seminole Community Alliance for Children and Families is <br />to encourage the maximum utilization of all community resources to aid in the delivery of services to all the <br />children and families in Seminole County. Vice Mayor Hart nominated Commissioner Hufford for <br />appointment to the Seminole County Alliance for Children and Families. Unanimous Commission <br />consensus was to appoint Commissioner Hufford to the Seminole County Alliance for Children and <br />Families. <br /> <br />H.
