Vice Mayor Hart stated she felt it would be more
comfortable for staff and the City Commission to relieve Mr. Clifton of his duties earlier than the required
period and to appoint an interim City Manager. Commissioner Cook concurred with Vice Mayor Hart. Mr.
Segreto stated that Mr. Clifton was a consummate professional and would certainly continue to assistthe City
with some ongoing major issues after his official departure from his duties to ease the transition process.
Mayor Goff suggested Mr. Clifton and Mr. Segreto attend the Florida City Manager's Conference at the end
of the week to utilize the networking opportunities at the conference for potential candidates, as an
alternative to the International City Manager Association Ranger Rider program that was utilized as the
selection process for filling the vacancy two years ago. A consensus was not reached regarding this matter.
Vice Mayor Hart stated Mr. Segreto served as an excellent interim city manager between Jack Schluckebier
and Frank Clifton, and recommended he be appointed Interim City Manager again.

MOTION:

Vice Mayor Hart moved to accept City Manager Frank
Clifton's resignation to be effective May 23, 2005 and
to appoint Tony Segreto as Interim City Manager.
Motion was seconded by Commissioner Cook. COMMISSION REPORTS/REQUESTS

Commissioner Susan Doerner - Seat # 1 :

·

Voiced concerns regarding Mayor Goff attending a recent Planning & Zoning Commission meeting
at which he addressed them on the accessory structure issue, which is slated to be addressed by the
City Commission. Also noted Commissioner Cook's father was present at the Planning & Zoning
Commission meeting and spoke in opposition to the accessory structure issue.

Commissioner Kathy Cook - Seat #2:

·

Stated her father's attendance at the Planning & Zoning Commission meeting and his position on
the accessory structure matter was irrelevant and as a citizen he has a right to voice his opinion.
Reiterated that she was against adult entertainment and voted against the property purchase because
she is opposed to the City continuing to buy property, when the City has been unable to resell other
various properties purchased many years ago.

·
