Vehicle Weiah terminoloav: There are several means of calculating vehicle weight (Exhibit F). The
weight provided in the NADA manual is based on "base curb weighf. That is the weight of the vehicle
including a full tank 01 luel and all standard equipment. It does not include passengers or cargo weight.
The "gross vehicle weight (GVW)" is the base curb weight plus actual cargo weight plus passengers.
This is the weight used by the Motor Vehicle Department on a vehicle registration form.

The NADA website (nadaguides.com) provides the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating Cap (GVWR)
which is the maximum allowable weight of the fully loaded vehicle. This information is provided on the
vehicles Safety COiTlpJiance Certification Label.

2. The NADA website does not provide GVWR for personal size vehicles. This number is based on the
manual which provides base curb weight.

The total height and length of the commercial vehicle can be increased due to commercial equipment
attachments that include such items as trailers, wenches, ladders, toolboxes, hitches, etc.

3. Advertisement copv area:
Staff determined that a phrase of code language regarding the copy area had been inadvertently
deleted during a previous revision to the code language. This resulted in a change from a "letter" height
of 6" to the "sian" height of 6". Obviously, this language needs to be corrected.

The Commission has options to amend the advertisement requirements lor commercial vehicles:

a. Return the code to the original language allowing 6" high letters, determine a maximum square
footage of copy area allowed and the location of the signs on the vehicle, allow unlimited copy
area, or eliminate parking of advertised vehicles.
b. Determine where parking of advertised commercial vehicles may occur.

Parking Locations and Allowed Advertising:

1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
7.

Similar to RV/Boat re
Similar to RV/Boat re

www.casselberry.org
