<br />City Commission Meeting <br />September 13, 2004 <br />Page 7 <br /> <br />Commissioner Hart was opposed to assessing the entire subdivision and opposed to the City picking up the <br />cost for the landscape package. <br /> <br />Mayor Pronovost supported the assessment and the construction of the wall. The wall will be a benefit to the <br />entire community and the landscape contribution by the City would be minimal compared to other cost paid <br />by the City in the assessment. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor/Commissioner AI Clark moved to approve Resolution 04-1517, <br />Summerset Wall Assessment which included findings previously adopted by tbe <br />Commission that stated every homeowner in the subdivision would accrue <br />benefit from the assessment. The motion was seconded by Commissioner <br />Susan Doerner and carried unanimously by voice vote. <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Vice Mayor/Commissioner Al Clark moved to approve the landscaping package <br />associated with Resolution 04-1517 at a cost to the City of $5,000. The motion <br />was seconded by Commissioner Linda Hart and approved on a 3 - 2 roll call <br />vote. Commissioners Cook and Hart dissenting. <br /> <br />Mayor Pronovost concluded the Public Hearings. <br /> <br />AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION <br /> <br />The following individuals came forward and addressed the Commission: <br /> <br />I) David Piesky, 682 Brydie Court, Casselberry, FL, addressed the City Commission regarding lake <br />quality in the Triplet chain of lakes. Some of the problems he specifically addressed diminished <br />weed control and trash in lakes; lack of wake control which causes erosion; control of speed of jet <br />skies on Middle Lake Triplet. <br /> <br />2) Winston Miller, 664 North Shore, Casselberry, FL, employed by Lake Doctors, also addressed weed <br />control problems in the Triplet Chain of Lakes and the jet ski speed problem. <br /> <br />3) John Casselberry, 700 Lost Lake Lane, Casselberry, FL, inquired as to the status of letter he had sent <br />to the City Manager regarding RFP Proposal for City property across the street from City Hall. He <br />also asked for verification for Shell Station property and type of bids received for that property. He <br />addressed concerns he had regarding Seminole County's debris costs and the possibility of working <br />together on storm clean up. He also suggested that the Commission be polled on motions in random <br />order. <br /> <br />4) Aaron Gorovitz,Lowndes Drostic Kantor Law Firm, 215 Eola, Orlando, FL asked to speak on Items <br />3 and 4 on the Regular Agenda. He stated that he was in full agreement with staff recommendations. <br /> <br />5) David Henson, 233 Bridle Path, Casselberry, FL, suggested that the next City newsletter develop a <br />brochure on the proper pruning of trees. <br />
