CASSGLBERRY CITY COMMISSION Minutes of October 14, 2024 — Regular Mecting Pagc 11 of 12 the requirement. He noted that by way of comparison, the debris collected for Hurricane Ian was approximately 15,000 cubic yards, so he did not expect the City to hit the 100,000 cubic yard mark, nor did he feel that the City's residents would wish for debris collection to operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Therefore, he advised it was his intention to file for exemption from that requirement if there was no objection from the Commission. The Commissioners indicated they had no objection and agreed that Mr. Newlon should proceed with filing for the exemption. Thanked staff once again for how well they worked together to respond to the emergency, and also expressed his hope that there would not be another storm this year. 15. CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT No report. 16. CITY CLERK'S REPORT No report. 17. CITY COMMISSIONERS' REPORTS/COMMENTS Commissioner Chad Albritton — Seat No. 4: Extended kudos to all City staff in all departments for the way they had responded to the storm, and for the plans that had been put in place prior to the storm. Stated that he believed anyone in Seminole County could now make application for FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) assistance and encouraged anyone having issues with damage to their homes from the storm or needing to look into what was available from FEMA to go to fema.gov to learn more about the application process. Commissioner Mark Busch — Seat No. 3: • Agreed that the City had done a fantastic job in responding to the hurricane and the City had weathered the storm well, considering its strength, and cleanup had started quickly. • Stated be had been unable to attend the ROCK ON Lake Concord event but had heard that it was fantastic, and he expressed kudos to those who had been involved in organizing the event. Commissioner Nancy Divita - Seat No. 2: • Reported that she attended the ROCK ON Lake Concord event on Friday, October 4` and it was phenomenal, although she wished there had been even more people in attendance. She noted that everyone who did attend had definitely enjoyed the concert.
