CASSEL13ERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of October 14, 2024 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 12 of 12 <br />Echoed earlier comments about appreciating and thanking staff who had worked during the <br />storm and had to leave family and pets at home in order to put the citizens first and she <br />expressed her thanks to all staff who had done that. <br />Mayor David Henson - Seat No. 5: <br />Stated lie could not be prouder of City staff and the work that had gone into preparations for <br />the storm and the way they had responded before, during and after. He noted that due to those <br />preparations there had been minimal flooding that had occurred. He added that everyone had <br />done a great job and that was why 11e had been disheartened by some of the social media <br />comments that had been posted. <br />Recently attended the following events and meetings: National Night Out at Secret Lake Park <br />on Tuesday, October Is'; Casselberry Chamber of Commerce meeting on October 2"`r; ROCK <br />ON Lake Concord concert on Friday, October 4`r'; and Kiwanis Club of Oviedo -Winter Springs <br />meeting on October 14f' where 11e worked with Kiwanis members and students from the Lake <br />Howell High School Key Club to build duck nesting boxes which were turned over to the City's <br />Public Works & Utilities Department for deployment on Middle Lake Triplet. <br />Attended the CALNO (Council of Local Governments in Seminole County) meeting on <br />Wednesday, October 2"' filling in for Vice Mayor Aramendia who is the CALNO Chair. The <br />meeting was hosted by Seminole County and a presentation was given by Rick Durr, Seminole <br />County Parks & Recreation Director providing updates on Seminole County golf courses — <br />Rolling Hills, Deer Run and Wekiva Golf Club, and an Annex tour was given led by County <br />Manager Darren Gray and Lieutenant Diana Lemma and Captain Shane Love of the Seminole <br />County Sheriff's Office. After the presentation and tour, reports were given by each member <br />organization present on events and issues in their respective jurisdictions. <br />18.
