FIRST READING OF ORDINANCE 01-1008 - FUTURE LAND USE - PARK MAITLAND VILLAS (FORMERLY LAKE HOWELL TOWNHOMES) MOTION: Commissioner Clark moved to read Ordinance 01- 1008 by title only. Motion was seconded by Vice Mayor Henson. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote. The City Clerk read Ordinance 01-1008 by title as follows: "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, TO AMEND THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN, BY AMENDING THE OFFICIAL LAND USE MAP ESTABLISHING THE FUTURE LAND USE DESIGNATION OF MEDIUM DENSITY RESIDENTIAL (MDR) FOR THAT PARCEL DESCRIBED IN SECTION I OF THIS ORDINANCE; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION, CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE." Mr. Wells stated as part of the annexation process, establishment of the medium density residential (MDR) designation is being requested for the subject property which is approximately 9.8 acres. The amendment request is being processed as a Small Scale Map amendment in accordance with Florida Statutes and does not require State review before adoption. The proposed use for the subject property 70 dwelling units with a density of 7.14 du/acre. The Planning & Zoning Commission/Local Planning Agency recommended approval of the amendment by a vote of 3 -1 at its February 14, 2001 meeting. Staff recommended approval of Ordinance 01-1008 on first reading. MOTION: Commissioner Clark moved to approve Ordinance 01-1008, on first reading, as presented. Motion was seconded by Vice Mayor Henson. Motion carried unanimously by roll call vote. Roll Call Vote of the City Commission: Commissioner Sheppard - Yes; Commissioner Clark - Yes; Commissioner Hart - Yes; Vice Mayor Henson - Yes; Mayor Pronovost - Yes. Motion passed 5 - 0. The Public Hearing for Ordinance 01-1008 is scheduled to be held on Monday, April 9, 2001.
