CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br />City Attorney Reischmann reported that a preliminary injunction had been filed earlier in the day by a <br />Federal Court against any further requirements for filing of Form 6 by municipal elected officials or <br />candidates. <br />16. CITY CLERK'S REPORT <br />City Clerk Donna Gardner shared the following information: <br />Qualifying for the August 20, 2024 City Election was held from May 201" at noon to May 24"' <br />at noon. Three candidates qualified for Commission Seat No. 4, Joel Hawksley, Thomas Kirk, <br />and Tim Veigle. Mayor David Henson was unopposed for Mayor/Commission Seat No. 5 and <br />Commissioner Nancy Divita was unopposed for the unexpired term for Commission Seat No. <br />2. <br />The next Food Truck Friday event will be held on Friday, June 14"' in Lake Concord Park from <br />6-9 p.m. and will feature food trucks, music, and bubbles, including bacon -flavored bubbles <br />for the dogs. She added that the event would take place rain or shine, although she was not <br />certain about the bubbles portion of the event if it should rain. <br />17. CITY COMMISSIONERS' REPORTS/COMMENTS <br />Commissioner Chad Albritton — Seat No. 4: <br />Congratulated the candidates who had qualified for the upcoming election for Commission Seat <br />No. 4, wished them luck and urged them to not be afraid to discuss and share their ideas. <br />Announced that his decision to not run for re-election to Seat No. 4 was due to the fact that he <br />and his wife were expecting their first child and he wanted to dedicate as much time and energy <br />as possible as he could towards his family, as he was aware of how quickly time passes. He <br />thanked City staff for their time spent teaching him about the City over the past four years and <br />for working with the Commission on all the various projects, including mobility programs and <br />parks projects, and for working together to make the City a strong and healthy community. <br />Each of the Commission members expressed congratulations to Commissioner Albritton and his wife on <br />the news that they were expecting their first child. <br />Commissioner Mark Busch — Seat No. 3: <br />• Attended the Double Ribbon Cutting for the Sunset and Southcot projects on Tuesday, May <br />28t1i, and thanked everyone who contributed to those projects. <br />
