CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION Minutes of April 8, 2024 — Regular Meeting Page 10 of 11 14. CITY MANAGER'S REPORT • Reported lie had been very pleased to attend the groundbreaking ceremonies for Wirz Park on Thursday, April 4"' and for Wheel Park earlier today on April 8"i. He thanked staff and all those who had helped to get those major parks projects to this point. 15. CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT Gave a brief overview on some of the legislative bills that will most likely be signed by the Governor, and some that already have been signed into law, which included the one related to the ban on public sleeping and camping for the homeless; the glitch bill for the Live Local Act; elimination of a City's ability to establish civil oversight boards for police; and two related to building permits, including specified timelines and requirements for expediting of permitting processes. 16. CITY CLERK'S REPORT • Expressed appreciation for everyone's patience for the earlier technical difficulties that had delayed the meeting. • Advised that the next regular monthly Friday Food Trucks event will be held Friday, April 12d' from 6-9 p.m. in Lake Concord Park. 17. CITY COMMISSIONERS' REPORTS/COMMENTS Commissioner Chad Albritton - Seat No. 4: Thanked staff for their hard work on all the great projects happening in Casselberry. Shared that the Annual Senior Educational Resource Expo would be held on May 3`d at tile Recreation Center. Commissioner Mark Busch - Seat No. 3 • Stated that he had enjoyed attending the groundbreaking ceremony for Wheel Park earlier today and extended kudos to staff for their work on the project, and also to the citizens for approving these great parks projects. Commissioner Nancy Divita - Seat No. 2: Echoed the comments made earlier by Commissioners Albritton and Busch about the groundbreaking ceremonies and projects currently underway in the City.
