CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of January 22, 2024 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 12 of 15 <br />MOTION: Commissioner Aramendia moved to appoint Matthew Baker as the City's <br />regular member to the South Seminole North Orange County Wastewater <br />Transmission Authority (SSNOCWTA) Board, to fill the unexpired term <br />caused by Tara Lamoureux's leaving employment with the City, term <br />effective through September 30, 2024. Motion was seconded by Vice Mayor <br />Busch. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote 5-0. <br />Police Officers' & Firefighters' Pension Board of Trustees <br />The Police Officers' & Firefighters' Pension Board of Trustees consists of five (5) members who serve two- <br />year terms. Two (2) of the members are City residents appointed by the City Commission, one (1) member <br />is a Police Officer Member of the plan, and one (1) member is a Firefighter Member of the plan, who are <br />elected by the majority of the Police Officers or Firefighters, respectively. The fifth member is chosen by <br />a majority of the four (4) other members and that selection is ratified by the City Commission. Currently <br />there is one vacancy on the Board for a City resident due to Nancy Divita being appointed to the City <br />Commission on January 16, 2024. Two (2) applications have been received to be considered to fill the <br />vacancy, and those are Bobby Elzie and Travis Kelley. All appointees' terms will be through November <br />30, 2024. <br />MOTION: Commissioner Divita moved to appoint Travis Kelley to the Police Officers' <br />& Firefighters' Pension Board of Trustees to fill the unexpired term caused <br />by Nancy Divita's appointment to the City Commission, term effective <br />through November 30, 2024. Motion was seconded by Vice Mayor <br />Aramendia. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote 5-0. <br />On November 14, 2023, the Pension Board unanimously voted to reappoint James Goodman as its fifth <br />member, term effective through December 31, 2025. A motion to ratify James Goodman's reappointment <br />as the fifth member of the Pension Board is requested. <br />MOTION: Vice Mayor Aramendia moved to ratify the reappointment of James <br />Goodman as the fifth member of the Police Officers' & Firefighters' Pension <br />Board of Trustees, term effective through December 31, 2025. Motion was <br />seconded by Commissioner Busch. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote <br />5-0. <br />Ms. Gardner advised that the Pension Board is the one board that is exempt from the City's term limit policy <br />for volunteer boards. She reiterated that anyone not selected for a board would have the application kept <br />on file for the remainder of the calendar and would be resubmitted for consideration should any vacancies <br />occur. <br />
