The City Commission, upon confirmation <br />of the returns of the election, shall certify the officers elected and issue certificates of office <br />accordingly. <br />City Charter Amendment 8: <br />HOUSEKEEPING. <br />Shall the City Charter of the City of Casselberry be amended to eliminate unnecessary <br />language and insert clarifying language regarding the use of "Mayor/Commissioner" and <br />"Commission;" to correct typographical errors; and to strike section 4.09 as redundant and <br />contradictory? <br />YES for approval <br />NO for rejection ❑ <br />Section 4.01. Form of government. <br />The City Commission shall be the governing body of the City of Casselberry. The form of <br />government provided by this Charter shall be known as the "City Commission -City Manager <br />government." Pursuant to its provisions and subject only to the limitations imposed by the State <br />Constitution and by this Charter, all powers of the City shall be vested in said elective commission, <br />hereinafter referred to as the "City Commission" or "Commission," which shall enact local <br />legislation, adopt budgets, determine policies, and otherwise conduct all affairs of the City. An <br />appointed City Manager shall execute all laws and administer the government of the City. All <br />powers of the City shall be exercised in the manner prescribed by this Charter, or if the manner be <br />not prescribed, then in such manner as may be prescribed by Ordinances. <br />X �C <br />Section 4.02 — Creation of City Commission; composition; term. <br />The regular election of Commissioners in Seats 4 and 5 (the Mayor Commissio shall be held <br />in even numbered years, the same years as the United States presidential elections, and the regular <br />election of Commissioners in Seats 1, 2, and 3 will be held in the alternate even numbered years <br />to coincide with the Florida gubernatorial elections. The City Commission shall have staggered <br />terms. The selection of members of the City Commission shall be by seats known as Seats 1, 2, 3, <br />and 4 for the Commissioners and Seat 5 for the Mayor Commissio �N <br />Ordinance No. 23-1590 <br />Page 7 of 10 <br />
