City Charter Amendment 6: <br />CHANGE DATE OF CITY ELECTION TO GENERAL ELECTION <br />The Charter currently provides that the regular election of Commissioners shall be held the <br />same time as the State Primary election, or ten weeks prior to the general election. It is <br />proposed that Article VII, Section 7.01 be amended to move the regular election of <br />Commissioners to the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November of even numbered <br />years, to coincide with federal and state election dates. <br />Shall the Charter amendment be adopted? <br />YES for approval J <br />NO for rejection <br />Section 7.01. Time and place of City election. <br />Election of the Mayor/Commissioner and City Commission members shall be the first Tuesday <br />following the first Monday in November of each even numbered year. same time as the tate <br />held.primaFy election or the Tuesday ten weeks prior to the general election, if Such <br />election shall be known as the City election of the City of Casselberry, Florida, within the City for <br />all purposes. Voting places shall be determined by the City Commission at either a regular or <br />special meeting. <br />City Charter Amendment 7: <br />ELIMINATING A RUNOFF ELECTION <br />The current Charter provides that if there are more than two candidates for Commission <br />and neither candidate receives a majority of the votes, then a run-off election will be held. <br />Shall Article VII, Section 7.08 of the City Charter of the City of Casselberry be amended <br />to eliminate the runoff election, so that the candidate with the highest number of votes cast <br />in the general election would be elected? <br />YES for approval ❑ <br />NO for rejection ❑ <br />Section 7.08. Run off eleetion and eCertification of election. <br />The candidate for an office receiving the highest number majority of votes cast shall be elected.
