CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of October 10, 2022 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 9 of I 1 <br />proactive approach and improvements to its infrastructure had been instrumental in there not having been <br />as many negative impacts to the City of Casselberry as there had been in some of the surrounding areas. <br />13. CITIZENS' COMMENTS <br />Mayor Henson announced persons that wished to snake comment or make inquiry on any matter not on the <br />agenda, may request to be recognized during Citizens' Comments. Mayor Henson announced the rules of <br />decorum. No one came forward. <br />14. CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br />Mr. Newlon added to his earlier commendations to staff for the work they had all done before, <br />during and after Hurricane lan and agreed that the City's foresight in investing in the City's <br />infrastructure, including regular maintenance of streets and roads, and stormwater, sewer and <br />water systems, in addition to its erosion control projects, and its provision of sufficient <br />emergency power sources had helped the City to be as prepared as it reasonably could have <br />been for this event. He added that he was very proud of the great job staff had done in stepping <br />up, both those who had experienced an emergency storm event before, and those who had not <br />and were new to the emergency processes and procedures. He stated that he very much <br />appreciated their dedication and willingness to leave their own homes and families while they <br />worked to keep the City functioning and provided support and outreach to citizens both in the <br />EOC and out in the field. He again commended Deputy Chief Becton for stepping into the <br />Incident Commander role and concluded by stating that on balance he believed the City had <br />fared much better than some of the surrounding areas which had suffered their own challenges, <br />especially those closer to large waterbodies. <br />15. CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br />No report. <br />16. CITY CLERK'S REPORT <br />City Clerk Donna Gardner shared the following information: <br />Thanks to the hard work of Public Works staff Lake Concord Park will be open before this <br />weekend and the regular Friday Food Trucks event will be held on Friday, October 14" from <br />6-9 p.m. <br />There will also be an art exhibition opening at the Art House on Friday, October 10' from 6-8 <br />p.m. presented by the Sanford Seminole Art Association. <br />Spooktoberfest will be held in Lake Concord Park on Saturday, October 22nd from 5-8 pin. <br />
