♦ Updated water demand projections through year 2030.
TASK 4.0 — WATER SUPPLY EVALUATION
The City currently utilizes groundwater from the Floridan Aquifer to satisfy water
demands. The City's current CUP grants a groundwater allocation of 7.02 MGD-AADF
to meet water demands through year 2020. However, with the passage of the Central
Florida Coordination Area (CFCA) Rule, water demands beyond the year 2013 must be
satisfied through an alternate water source. These alternate water sources could include
surface water, brackish groundwater, and stormwater, among other sources. The City is
currently involved in an initial planning level effort with other local municipalities to
produce potable water from a surface water source (Alternate Water Supply - State Road
46 Project). However, in light of the City's updated water demand projections (Task
3.0), the City's need to develop alternate water supply sources should be reevaluated.
REI will:
- Utilize the City's updated water demand projections to determine if the City still
requires an alternate water source to satisfy water demands though year 2030. If the
City does require an alternate water source, the amount of alternate water required
will be quantified on a yearly basis through year 2030.
- Participate in up to three (3) two hour workshops with City staff to evaluate
alternative water supply options available to the City.
Include a section in the Water Master Plan discussion the results of the alternative
water supply evaluation, based on the conclusions drawn at the three (3) workshops
with City staff.
Data Required: Relevant information regarding the Alternate Water Supply State Road
46 Project.
Deliverables:
♦ Updated water supply evaluation.
TASK 5.0 — REGULATORY ASSESSMENT
Regulatory compliance now and in the future is critical to the City's goal of producing safe
and dependable potable water for its customers. Regulations pertaining to both the
production of water at the City's water treatment facilities, as well as the distribution of
water in the City's distribution system, will be evaluated. Of particular concern to the City
are regulations related to disinfection byproducts (DBPs). This task will review existing
and potential future regulations where City compliance will be required. The following
tasks for the regulatory review are described below.
Task S.1— Regulation Review
+31i IL H PIf'4(J
