DRAFT <br />Deliverables: <br />One day of elevated storage tank site visits <br />♦ Asset Condition and Risk Assessment <br />TASK 11.0 — WATER TREATMENT PLANT EVALUATION AND <br />OPTIMIZATION <br />In this task the City's three water treatment facilities (WTFs) will be reviewed in order to <br />determine their adequacy to satisfy the City's water demand needs over the 10 -year <br />planning period. Any WTF system component that requires improvement over the 10 -year <br />planning period will be identified as part of this Scope. Furthermore, means to cost- <br />effectively optimize WTF performance, both in terms of water production and energy <br />consumption, will be considered. Particular attention will be paid to the City's recent forced <br />draft aeration project, to ensure that this unit process is achieving its design objectives. <br />REI will: <br />- Visit the City's three (3) water treatment facilities to document components and <br />interview the plant operations staff. <br />- Review the water treatment plants components and conduct a design review to ensure <br />each component can satisfy the City's needs during the 10 -year planning period. <br />- Evaluate the City's existing recent forced draft aeration project, to ensure that this <br />unit process is achieving its design objectives. <br />- Indicate the water treatment facility components that may require improvements to <br />satisfy the City's water demands. <br />- Provide alternative recommendations to replace, repair, upgrade or operate <br />components, as needed. <br />- Develop project cost estimates for each component based on alternative <br />recommendations. <br />- Consider available means to cost-effectively optimize WTF performance, including <br />water production and energy consumption considerations. <br />- Document recommendations in the Water Treatment Plant Review section of the <br />Master Plan Report. <br />Data Required: Water treatment design drawings or as-builts, City staff availability <br />Deliverables: <br />♦ One (1) visit to each of the City's three (3) water treatment facilities. <br />4 Water Treatment Facility Review <br />♦ Recommendations and cost estimates to replace, repair, or upgrade water treatment facility <br />components, as needed. <br />Page 10 of 14 <br />
