DRAFT
Deliverables:
One day of elevated storage tank site visits
♦ Asset Condition and Risk Assessment
TASK 11.0 — WATER TREATMENT PLANT EVALUATION AND
OPTIMIZATION
In this task the City's three water treatment facilities (WTFs) will be reviewed in order to
determine their adequacy to satisfy the City's water demand needs over the 10 -year
planning period. Any WTF system component that requires improvement over the 10 -year
planning period will be identified as part of this Scope. Furthermore, means to cost-
effectively optimize WTF performance, both in terms of water production and energy
consumption, will be considered. Particular attention will be paid to the City's recent forced
draft aeration project, to ensure that this unit process is achieving its design objectives.
REI will:
- Visit the City's three (3) water treatment facilities to document components and
interview the plant operations staff.
- Review the water treatment plants components and conduct a design review to ensure
each component can satisfy the City's needs during the 10 -year planning period.
- Evaluate the City's existing recent forced draft aeration project, to ensure that this
unit process is achieving its design objectives.
- Indicate the water treatment facility components that may require improvements to
satisfy the City's water demands.
- Provide alternative recommendations to replace, repair, upgrade or operate
components, as needed.
- Develop project cost estimates for each component based on alternative
recommendations.
- Consider available means to cost-effectively optimize WTF performance, including
water production and energy consumption considerations.
- Document recommendations in the Water Treatment Plant Review section of the
Master Plan Report.
Data Required: Water treatment design drawings or as-builts, City staff availability
Deliverables:
♦ One (1) visit to each of the City's three (3) water treatment facilities.
4 Water Treatment Facility Review
♦ Recommendations and cost estimates to replace, repair, or upgrade water treatment facility
components, as needed.
