DRAFT
REI will add future scenarios to the hydraulic model on the existing CIP and the previous
Water Master Plan projects. The population and water demand projections developed in
Task 3.0 will be used to allocate the water demand for each future scenario year. This
will include all anticipated areas to be served by the City including proposed annexations,
if any.
Task 7.1 - Scenario Management
REI will:
- Setup hydraulic model scenarios to include future conditions of average day,
maximum day and peak hour demands, and maximum day fire flow conditions.
Utilize the updated water demand projections (Task 3.0) to update modeling steady
state scenarios (ADF, MDF, PHF) for the existing year (2010).to develop fixture
demand sets for the 2015 and 2020 scenarios.
- Coordinate with City staff to identify scenarios that will be used evaluate the
distribution system.
- Construct extended period simulation distribution system evaluation scenarios
- Incorporate logical controls for the existing and future scenarios based on current
operations and City input.
- Develop physical sets to control the typical set-up and initial settings for each
scenario for simplified use.
Task 7.2 -Demand Allocation
REI will:
- Utilize the updated water demand projections to allocate demands for the existing and
future scenarios using the WaterCAD v8 allocator module. This Scope presumes that
the updated water demands developed by the City are not geolocated. As such, REI
will apply a ratio, based on a comparison of the updated water demand projections to
the water demands allocated at the parcel level in previous work conducted by REI
for the City in 2009, in order to update the water demand allocation for use in this
Scope.
- Update the Model peaking factors based on the summarized historical water
discharge flow meter records, rainfall data, and previous City reports.
Data Required: Current operational settings and/or trigger for each high service pump
and elevated tank, latest 5 -year historical water treatment plant production data summary
Deliverables:
♦ Updated water hydraulic model scenarios with updated peaking factors, existing and
future demands
Page 6 of 14 ( F E. t, visit.zinc
