CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of June 13, 2022 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 5 of 14 <br />Budget Impact: There is no budget impact due to the approval of the piggyback contract for George <br />Gideon Auctioneers, Inc. Revenue will be derived from the referral of surplus property to the contractor <br />for sale. Commissions and fees will be netted from the sale of any surplus property so referred. Estimated <br />revenue for the disposition of capital assets has been budgeted for in Surplus Equipment/Furniture Sales <br />account #364.41-00 in the General Fund, Equipment Replacement Fund and Water and Sewer Fund. <br />Recommendation: The City Manager and the Procurement Manager recommended approval of the <br />piggyback agreement with George Gideon Auctioneers, Inc. for the provision of surplus property online <br />auction services for the City of Casselberry. <br />G. Application for Department of Justice Assistance Bulletproof Vest Partnership <br />Grant Award FY22-23 <br />Introduction: Approval to submit a grant application through the Bureau of Justice Assistance, U.S. <br />Department of Justice, to the Bulletproof Vest Partnership Program for grant funding to partially fund <br />bullet -resistant body armor approved by the National Institute of Justice for designated use by the City of <br />Casselberry is requested. <br />Budget Impact: Sufficient funds for the purchase of bulletproof vests have been requested in the FY23 <br />proposed budget Law Enforcement/Operating Supplies — Grant account 4001-0610-521.52-01. Revenue <br />will be recognized when received. <br />Recommendation: The City Manager and the Police Chief recommended approval to participate in the <br />grant application for FY22-23 grant funds. <br />H. Application for the FY 2022 U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Community <br />Policing Services (COPS) Hiring Program <br />Introduction: Approval for participation in a grant application through the U.S. Department of Justice in <br />the amount of up to $500,000 for designated use by the City of Casselberry for the enhancement and <br />continuation of the Casselberry Police Department's mission to work in partnership with the community to <br />protect life and property, solve neighborhood problems and enhance the quality of life in our City is <br />requested. <br />Budget Impact: There is no impact on the City Budget at this time. Upon notification of the exact amount <br />awarded to the City, acceptance of the grant and a budget amendment will be presented to the City <br />Commission for acknowledgernent of the grant revenue and to approve the necessary adjustments. <br />Recommendation: The City Manager and the Police Chief recommended approval to participate in the <br />grant application with the U.S. Department of Justice. <br />
