CASSCLBE,RRY CiTY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of June 13, 2022 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 12 of 14 <br />Discussion: Discussion ensued which included roundabouts' compatibility with shared paths and bike <br />paths; possible use of rapid flashing beacons for traffic slowing; options for bikes to take the roundabout or <br />ramp to sidewalk based on traffic volume at the time; environmental issues; offset intersection options; <br />headlight issues; potential impact to lift stations and tree canopy; traffic issues in the area of the flyover and <br />the potential for assistance with solutions from Seminole County and/or FDOT; importance of focusing on <br />connectivity and utilizing landscaping and other measures on the Red Bug Lake Road and SR 436 end, as <br />it is one of the entrances to the City; and each Commissioner's preference for which of the alternatives <br />presented should be the preferred alternative. <br />Budget Impact: There is no budget impact associated with this item. <br />Recommendation: City staff is seeking feedback form the City Commission regarding the alternatives <br />assessment and identification of an alternative to form the basis of the preferred alternative for the Winter <br />Park Drive Complete Street and Concept Development Study. <br />Audience Participation: No one came forward to address this item. <br />CONSENSUS: The City Commission agreed by consensus to direct Fehr & Peers to <br />develop Alternative 2 — Shared Use Path Eastside as the Preferred <br />Alternative and to bring it back to the City Commission for further <br />consideration. <br />13. CITIZENS' COMMENTS <br />Mayor Henson announced persons that wished to make comment or make inquiry on any matter not on the <br />agenda, may request to be recognized during Citizens' Comments. Mayor Henson announced the rules of <br />decorum. No one came forward. <br />14. CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br />• Reported that the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Police Station on Wilshire Boulevard <br />had taken place this morning and thanked everyone who was involved with organizing the <br />event and those who had been in attendance to support the project. <br />15. CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br />No report. <br />
