EXHIBIT A <br />AGREEMENT FOR BUILDING CODE ADMINISTRATOR AND RELATED <br />SERVICES BETWEEN THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA AND THE <br />CITY OF ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, FLORIDA <br />This Agreement ("Agreement") is made and entered into this 22nd day of September, <br />2008, between the City of Casselberry, Florida ("Casselberry") and the City of Altamonte <br />Springs, Florida ("Altamonte Springs"), for the purpose of providing Building Code <br />Administrator (Building Official) and related services to the City of Casselberry. <br />WHEREAS, Casselberry desires to secure Building Code Administration and <br />related services for its City; and <br />WHEREAS, Altamonte Springs is amenable to authorize and allow its Building <br />Official, to serve as the Building Code Administrator for Casselberry and concurrently <br />perform his duties for Altamonte Springs during the term of this Agreement; and <br />WHEREAS, Casselberry additionally desires to secure building plans review and <br />building inspections services from Altamonte Springs as may be necessary to properly <br />enforce all provisions of the Florida Building Code and the Florida Fire Prevention <br />Code with referenced and related attendant standards and appendices. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, for good and valuable consideration, the receipt and <br />sufficiency of which are hereby acknowledged, the parties hereby agree as follows: <br />1. Building Official Appointment and Scope of Services: Subject to the terms and <br />conditions set forth herein, the Altamonte Springs Building Official (hereinafter <br />"Building Official") is hereby officially appointed Building Code Administrator for <br />Casselberry, and shall have all powers and duties as prescribed by Florida Statutes and <br />the Code of Ordinances of Casselberry in order to serve as Building Code Administrator <br />for Casselberry.. Additionally, such other personnel from Altamonte Springs as may be <br />assigned by the Building Official, either temporarily or on an interim basis, to perform <br />functions and duties assisting the Building Official in his duties as Building Code <br />Administrator for Casselberry shall have all powers and duties as prescribed by Florida <br />Statutes and the Code of Ordinances of Casselberry in order to serve as Deputy Building <br />Official, plans reviewers and/or building and fire inspectors for Casselberry. <br />2. Employee Status: The Building Official, in the perfonnance of his services, <br />duties and functions pursuant to this Agreement as Building Code Administrator for <br />Casselberry, under Chapter 486, Part XII, Florida Statutes (F.S.), shall be considered a <br />Casselberry employee, except that he shall have no claim to pension, civil service or <br />benefits of any type or nature normally provided to Casselberry employees. The Building <br />Official will receive no compensation from Casselberry for his services; however, the <br />Building Official will receive reimbursement for out of pocket expenses he may incur in <br />the rendering of services in his official duties for Casselberry, in accordance with <br />Casselberry personnel policies. Altamonte Springs shall be compensated for loss of <br />services, on an hour for hour basis, resultant from Building Official rendering services on <br />
