CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br />Advised she had informed the Interim City Manager and the Public Works Director that the <br />Superintendent of Schools had asked their attorney to reach to out to us to talk about the storm water <br />fee, and expressed an interest in sitting down and discussing it and perhaps coining up with an <br />Interlocal Agreement on that point. Mr. Newlon stated that they would be looking into that, and as the <br />School District is voluntarily waiting until June to suspend payments, they have some time to work <br />with. <br />16. CITY CLERK'S REPORT <br />• No report. <br />17. CITY COMMISSIONERS' REPORTS/COMMENTS <br />Commissioner Anthony Aratnendia - Seat No. 1: <br />• Stated that the Jazz Fest was great and he was told there were over 4,000 people in attendance. <br />• Reported that last weekend the Friends of the Park and Hands on Orlando planted over 700 cord grass <br />and pampas grass plants on the shores of Lake Hodge. He added that there were over 45 volunteers <br />who worked the event which resulted in a cost savings of $2,000 to the City, which emphasizes the <br />importance of volunteers and what their work does for the community. <br />Commissioner Sandra Solomon — Seat No. 3: <br />Also complimented the Recreation Division staff for the successful Jazz Fest. <br />Requested a status report on the North Winter Park Drive Improvements Project. Mr. Mark Gisclar, <br />Public Works Director, stated there was nothing significant to report and construction continues at a <br />slow pace. He advised that staff and the City Attorney have been negotiating several change orders <br />with the contractor and his attorney, which he expects to bring to the Commission at the April 9"' <br />meeting. Mr. Gisclar stated the change orders should bring resolution to some differences between the <br />City and the contractor which have been impeding completion of the project. <br />Commissioner Jon Miller — Seat No. 2: <br />• Commended staff for the recent Jazz and Art event. <br />• Reminded the Commission about the Special Meeting last week regarding funding of the flyover, and <br />expressed his appreciation for the City's lobbyist team, as well as Representatives Brodeur and <br />Dorworth, and Secretary of Transportation Ananth Prasad for their assistance in securing the $30 <br />million in funding to complete the flyover project. <br />• Reported that he will be meeting with Commissioner Dallari next week and asking for his support as <br />
