CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT
A. City Attorney Billing Rate Consumer Price Index (CPI) Increase
Staff presentation: City Attorney Katie Reischmann stated that in 2015 the City Commission had
approved increasing the City Attorney rated based on the CPI (Consumer Price Index). The CPI is currently
at 5.6 which would mean a rate of $195 for the City Attorney billing rate; however, since it is so high and
will go higher, Ms. Reischmann advised she would gladly accept an increase to $190 per hour instead. She
expressed appreciation for serving as the City Attorney and for the increase in her rate, and stated she really
enjoys working with the City Commission and City staff.
Advised she has once again, for the fifth or sixth time in a row, been named as a Super Lawyer for state,
local and county governments, and is one of fewer than fifteen in the State of Florida.
Budget Impact: Funds will be budgeted accordingly in the City Attorney Legal Services account #001-
