Page 12 <br />WHEREAS, the Altamonte Springs Police Department, the Apopka Police Department, the <br />Casselberry Police Department, the Lake Mary Police Department, the Longwood Police <br />Department, the Maitland Police Department, the Oviedo Police Department, the Sanford <br />Police Department, the Winter Park Police Department, the Winter Springs Police <br />Department, Sanford Airport Authority Police Department, The University of Central Florida <br />Board of Trustees on behalf of its Police Department and the Seminole County Sheriff's <br />Office have the authority under Part I of Chapter 23, Florida Statutes, the Florida Mutual Aid <br />Act, to enter into a Voluntary Cooperation Agreement for assistance of a routine law <br />enforcement nature that crosses jurisdictional lines and a Requested Operational <br />Assistance Agreement for the rendering of assistance in connection with a law enforcement <br />emergency. <br />NOW, THERFORE, THE PARTIES AGREE AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION I. PROVISIONS FOR REQUESTED OPERATIONAL ASSISTANCE <br />THEREFORE, be it known that the aforesaid law enforcement agencies hereby approve and <br />enter into this Agreement whereby each of the agencies may request or agree to render law <br />enforcement assistance to the other in law enforcement emergencies to include, but not <br />necessarily be limited to, civil disturbances, large protest demonstrations, aircraft disaster, <br />fires, natural or man-made disaster, sporting events to include School Resource <br />Officer/Deputy assistance at High School events, concerts, parades, escapes from detention <br />facilities, active shooter incidents, suspected terrorist incidents, incidents requiring utilization <br />of specialized units, or other emergency as defined in Section 252.34, Florida Statutes.. <br />SECTION II. PROVISIONS FOR VOLUNTARY COOPERATION <br />A. BE IT KNOWN THAT each of the subscribed law enforcement agencies recognize that an <br />increasing number of law violators are operating in more than one jurisdiction, and that <br />there is a need for a continuing inter -county and neighboring jurisdictional response to this <br />threat. The following voluntary cooperation agreement is created to provide this capability. <br />Therefore, be it known that the aforesaid law enforcement agencies hereby approve and <br />enter into this Agreement whereby each of the law enforcement agencies to this <br />Inter Local Multi Jurisdiction Combined Mutual Aid Agreement January 1, 2021 — January 31, 2021. Cities <br />of Altamonte Springs, Casselberry, Lake Mary, Longwood, Oviedo, Sanford, Winter Springs and the <br />Sanford Airport Authority, The University of Central Florida Board of Trustees on behalf of its Police <br />Department and the Seminole County Sheriffs Office <br />
