CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of June 14, 2021 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 7 of 15 <br />Excuse Absence of Commissioner Andrew Meadows <br />Introduction: Commissioner Andrew Meadows has advised that he will be out of town and unable to <br />attend the June 14, 2021 Regular City Commission meeting. He has respectfully requested that his Excuse <br />of Absence be placed on the Consent Agenda for consideration. <br />Audience Participation: No one came forward to address the Consent Agenda. <br />MOTION: Commissioner Aramendia moved to approve the Consent Agenda, as presented. <br />Motion was seconded by Vice Mayor Busch. Motion carried unanimously by <br />voice vote 4-0. <br />8. DISCUSSION ITEMS <br />A. Future Agenda Items <br />No items were presented for consideration. <br />B. Municipal Advisory Committee (Metroplan) Report <br />Mayor Henson reported he had attended a Zoom meeting with the group on June 3' and advised that an <br />additional Casselberry project had been moved up on the Metroplan priority list. He stated that the group <br />will resume in-person meetings for the next meeting which is scheduled for July Is` <br />C. Council of Local Governments in Seminole County CALNOLeport <br />Commissioner Aramendia reported that the meeting on June 2"' was hosted by the City of Lake Mary and <br />a presentation was given on the Lake Mary's Police Department's work with a non-profit organization to <br />address mental health issues within the City as an alternative before the need to involve law enforcement. <br />A second presentation was made by the Seminole County Historical Museum about the traveling exhibit <br />containing artifacts from The Senator cypress tree. Commissioner Aramendia shared the following <br />highlights from the members' reports: <br />Longwood Mayor Richard Drummond has resigned from office and is moving out of state. <br />The City of Longwood will be selecting a new representative for CALNO at their next meeting <br />and holding a special election to fill the vacancy on the Commission soon as required by their <br />Charter. <br />Seminole Soil & Water Conservation District has appointed a new Associate Supervisor, Ms. <br />Sarah Hall to fill the vacancy left with the resignation of Amy Volpe. <br />City of Altamonte Springs has decided not to have its July 3'd Red, Hot & Boom event this year <br />as a precaution against COVID-19 due to the extremely large crowds that normally attend the <br />event. <br />
