CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of August 11, 2014 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 6 of 20 <br />Introduction: Resolution 14-2641 approves the Agreement between the City of Casselberry and the Seminole <br />County School Board for a School Resource Officer (SRO) for the 2014-2015 school year at South Seminole <br />Middle School at a cost share amount of $33,770, and authorizes the Mayor to execute said agreement for and <br />on behalf of the City of Casselberry. <br />Budget Impact: The revenue from Seminole County for half of the SRO's salary and benefits in the amount <br />of $33,770 has been included in the General Fund SRO revenue account #001-0000-337.20-01 for the FY <br />2015 fiscal year. <br />Recommendation: The City Manager and the Police Chief recommend approval of Resolution 14-2641. <br />REMOVED FROM CONSENT AGENDA FOR SEPARATE DISCUSSION AND <br />CONSIDERATION (See motion on Page 9 of these minutes.) <br />H. Resolution 14-2643 — Medical Transport Fees Rate Structure <br />"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, SETTING THE EMERGENCY <br />MEDICAL SERVICES RATE STRUCTURE AND TRANSPORT FEES IN ACCORDANCE WITH <br />CODE SECTION 42-07(C); PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY AND EFFECTIVE <br />DATE." <br />Introduction: Resolution 14-2643 establishes medical transportation service transportation fees, including <br />mileage charges, for basic life support (BLS) and advanced life support (ALS) emergency transportation, in <br />furtherance of Code Section 42-97, as follows: <br />BLS non emergency: <br />$585.00 <br />BLS emergency: <br />$600.00 <br />ALS non -emergency: <br />$700.00 <br />ALS 1 emergency: <br />$700.00 <br />ALS 2 emergency: <br />$775.00 <br />Mileage: <br />$10.50/loaded mile <br />Budget Impact: Transport fees are budgeted in the General Fund Ambulance Fees account #001-0000- <br />342.60-00. Approval of Resolution 14-2643 would increase the rates charged for emergency medical services <br />and has the potential to increase annual revenue approximately $50,000. Actual revenue received is dependent <br />upon the type and volume of services provided by the Casselberry Fire Department. <br />
