Designation of Voting Delegate to the Florida League of Cities 881h Annual <br />Conference <br />CONSENSUS: The Commission agreed by consensus to designate Vice Mayor Hufford <br />as the City's voting delegate to the Florida League of Cities 88th Annual <br />Conference. <br />13. CITIZENS' COMMENTS <br />Mayor Glancy announced persons that wished to make comment or snake inquiry on any matter not on the <br />agenda, may request to be recognized during Citizens' Comments. Mayor Glancy announced the rules of <br />decorum. No one came forward. <br />14. CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br />Advised that the City had received a counter-offer from the sellers of the bowling alley property on <br />Wilshire Boulevard 1n the amount of $'900,000, which was the original list rice and Qcn nnn �r <br />gi p IV.,.,,.,.,., over the <br />City's original offer. He stated that the sellers were preparing a contract which would be sent for the <br />City's review, and if acceptable, the contract would be brought back to the Commission for <br />consideration. He explained that if the Commission approved the contract, the 30 -day due diligence <br />period would begin, during which the City's contractors which had previously been approved by the <br />Commission would be performing various services including appraisals, title searches, structural <br />evaluations, and evaluations for the purpose of suitability for renovation. He noted that all of these <br />things would occur and be reported back to the Commission for approval prior to closing on the <br />contract. <br />Reminded the Commission that the Budget Workshop would be held on Monday, July 21, 2014 at <br />2:00 p.m. in the Police Department Multi-purpose Room at 4195 S. U.S. Highway 17-92, and if <br />necessary, a continuation of the Budget Workshop would be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2014 at 2:00 <br />p.m., also in the Police Department Multi-purpose Room. He added that in addition to discussions <br />about the proposed budget, the Commission would be asked to reach a consensus on a proposed <br />millage rate which would then be brought forward at the regular Commission meeting on July 28, <br />2014 for a formal vote. He advised that staff was recommending that the millage remain at 5.45 mils, <br />which it had been for the past several years. Vice Mayor Hufford indicated she would also like to <br />engage in a discussion at the Budget Workshop regarding staffing needs in the Police Department, to <br />ensure that staffing was sufficient to meet the community's needs. <br />Advised that City Attorney Catherine Reischmann had been honored by Florida Trend Magazine as <br />one of Florida's Legal Elite in the practice areas of government and administrative affairs, and <br />congratulated her on this accomplishment. The Mayor and Commissioners also added their <br />congratulations to Ms. Reischmann. <br />
