CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION
Minutes of June 23, 2014 — Regular Meeting
Page 13 of 14
Gave a brief update on two items of new legislation: one, beginning January 1, 2014 municipal
officers would be required to obtain four hours of ethics and Sunshine Law training on an annual
basis; and two, that any building permit issued with an expiration date from January 1, 2014 through
January 1, 2016 had been extended and renewed for a period of two years, with the exception that the
total extension may not exceed four years.
Reported briefly on the Pleasants lawsuit, advising that former Commissioner Doerner would be
deposed by the Plaintiff on Wednesday, June 25, 2014. She further advised that an offer of judgment
for a nominal amount had been submitted on behalf of the City to the Plaintiff and had been rejected.
She added that her firm had recently filed a Motion for Sanctions for filing what they considered to be
a frivolous complaint against the City, and that motion would be heard by the Court at a future date.
16. CITY CLERK'S REPORT
No report.
17. CITY COMMISSIONERS' REPORTS/COMMENTS
Commissioner Anthony Aramendia — Seat No. 1:
• Reported he had recently attended the celebration for the Habitat for Humanity Home Builders Blitz
and was happy to report that everything was completed in one week and the families would be moving
into their new homes soon.
Commissioner Gene Fry — Seat No. 2:
Congratulated Sgt.
