CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION
Minutes of June 23, 2014 — Regular Meeting
Page 14 of 14
• Commended the Fire Department on their quick response and professionalism in responding to an
emergency call about a drug overdose which occurred next door to a home where she was visiting a
friend.
Vice Mayor Colleen Hufford — Seat No. 4:
• Also congratulated Sgt. Schaefer and Lt. Hettler on the recognition they received from the Casselberry
Veterans Auxiliary.
• Expressed her desire to have a workshop to discuss the City's long-term and short-term goals in the
near future.
• Commented that her earlier interruption during citizen comments had been due to what she considered
to be vile language being used by the speaker, and she wanted to call to everyone's attention that such
language was inappropriate, and polite and courteous language should be used when speaking during a
meeting.
Mayor Charlene Glancy — Seat No. 5:
Advised that the PSFPC (Public Schools Facilities Planning Committee) had met last week and had
finally approved an interlocal agreement which she would be bringing to the Commission at a future
meeting.
Attended the Casselberry Veteran's Auxiliary event and congratulated Sgt. Schaefer and Lt. Hettler on
receiving the Police Officer of the Year and Firefighter/EMT of the Year honors.
Reported she had attended the Tri -County League of Cities meeting at which the presentation was
about the SunRail program. She shared that ridership had exceeded expectations and SunRail would
be adding two cars to accommodate the increase. She added that bicyclists were utilizing the system
to such a degree that SunRail was having to retrofit the buses to accommodate more bicycles for those
taking the train to areas where they would then get around by bicycle.
18.
