She added that the Plaintiff was proceeding <br />with depositions in the case. <br />Advised that a Final Judgment of Foreclosure had been entered in the case involving the property at <br />317 Sunset Drive and a sale date had been set for July 1, 2014. <br />Gave a brief update on recent legislation, including a statutory requirement for four hours of ethics, <br />public records and Sunshine Law training annually, which will take effect in January 2015, and <br />additional extension of permits for developers. She advised she will work with the Commission on the <br />best way to set up the training for them. <br />16. CITY CLERK'S REPORT <br />Announced for the record that in accordance with the City's Charter, election qualifying period began <br />at Noon on May 19, 2014 and ended at Noon on May 23, 2014. She stated that for Seat 1 <br />Commissioner Aramendia had qualified unopposed; for Seat 2 Mr. Andrew Meadows had qualified <br />unopposed; and for Seat 3 there would be a contested race between incumbent Commissioner Sandi <br />Solomon and Mr. Lloyd D. Kinderknecht, both of whose names would appear on the August 26, 2014 <br />City ballot. Ms. Gardner added that Commissioner Aramendia, Mr. Meadows and the winner of the <br />Seat 3 race would be sworn into office upon certification of the August 26, 2014 election results, and <br />that would occur either at a Special Meeting or a Regular Meeting around the date of the September 8, <br />2014 scheduled Commission meeting. <br />17. CITY COMMISSIONERS' REPORTS/COMMENTS <br />Commissioner Anthony Aramendia — Seat No. 1: <br />• Reported that he had enjoyed attending the Employee Picnic on May 22, 2014, stating the food was <br />great and it was good to see the employees enjoying the event. <br />• Attended the State Road 436 Visioning Project meeting on May 22, 2014 where concerns from the <br />community were addressed relating to the corridor between Oxford Road and Wilshire Boulevard. <br />• Reported that the Hot Rods & Rock `N' Roll Car Show and Concert event on May 24, 2014 had been <br />very successful, with over 110 classic and show cars participating. <br />• Gave an update on Habitat for Humanity projects being constructed in the Duck Pond area on Park <br />Drive and Oak Lane, stating that the contractors were pursuing a LEED green certification for the <br />homes. Added that they were also in the midst of a Builders Blitz which began on Thursday, June 5, <br />2014 and which would result in complete construction of a home from foundation to Certificate of <br />Occupancy in only one week. He also noted that in consideration of saving some beautiful oaks on <br />one of the lots, the contractors had made adjustments, moving the home slightly to accommodate the <br />trees. <br />Commissioner Gene Fry — Seat No. 2: <br />0 Congratulated Mr. Andrew Meadows on qualifying unopposed for Commission Seat 2. <br />
