CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of April 28, 2014 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 7 of 17 <br />Decrease: <br />001-0000-113-0210-515.63-40 Infrastructure $ 150,000 <br />113-0210-515.61-01 Parcel Purch/Aggregation $ 159,000 <br />Recommendation: The City Manager and the Community Development Director recommended approval of <br />Budget Amendment #14-030. <br />F. Purchase of Police Radios & Related Budget Amendment #14-029 <br />Introduction: This item provides or consideration to purchase fifteen (15) mobile police radios in the <br />amount of $50,332.50 and related Budget Amendment #14-029. <br />Budget Impact: Funding for the purchase of the police mobile radios will be provided through Budget <br />Amendment #14-029. This amendment will increase the Equipment Replacement Fund Other Non -Operating <br />Sources account #302-0000-389.90-00 and increase the Radios account #302-0610-521.67-01 in the amount <br />of $50,332.50. <br />BA #14-029 <br />Explanation of Request: This item seeks City Commission approval to provide funding in the amount of <br />$50,332 for the purchase of (15) mobile police radios. In order to comply with Seminole County's Motorola <br />P25 digital system, this purchase is required through Motorola Solutions, Inc., which was selected by <br />Seminole County as the sole source provider of this equipment. This budget amendment will provide <br />sufficient funding for the purchase of the radios. <br />Account Number Account Description Amount <br />Increase: <br />302-0000-389.00-00 Other Non -Operating Source $50,332 <br />302-0610-521.67-13 Radio/Communication Equipment $50,332 <br />Recommendation: The City Manager and the Police Chief recommended approval of the purchase of 15 <br />mobile police radios from Motorola Solutions, Inc. in the amount of $50,332.50 and related Budget <br />Amendment #14-029. <br />Audience Participation: The following individuals came forward to address the Consent Agenda: <br />1. Mr. James Fraleigh, 23 Teresa Court, spoke in opposition to Consent Agenda Items C and E, <br />stating he believed the Police Department could utilize training opportunities locally, and he <br />felt it would be wasteful to use taxpayer money to realign Triplet Lake Drive when there is <br />nothing wrong with the way the road is currently built. <br />2. Mr. John Casselberry, 700 South Lost Lake Lane, voiced opposition to Item E on the <br />Consent Agenda, stating he felt the money would be better spent on Oxford Road <br />improvements or a similar project that would facilitate the traffic flow around the flyover <br />
