CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of May 12, 2014 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 10 of 22 <br />Decrease: <br />401-0751-536.46-13 Repair & Maintenance/Lift Stations $3,433 <br />Recommendation: The City Manager and the Public Works Director recommended approval to accept the <br />proposal from Sanders Company, Inc. in the amount of $78,433 and related Budget Amendment #14-032. <br />O. Application for Edward Bvrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant <br />Introduction: This item provides for consideration to apply for Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance <br />Grant (JAG) funds in the amount of $13,615 via the Office of Criminal Justice Programs. Upon approval and <br />receipt, the funds will be used to purchase Digital -Ally, Inc. digital in -car DMV -750 video systems and <br />ancillary equipment. <br />Budget Impact: There will be no impact to the City Budget at this time. Upon receipt of the funds, a budget <br />amendment will be brought forward to recognize the grant revenue and provide a budget to purchase in -car <br />cameras. <br />Recommendation: The City Manager and the Police Chief recommended approval to apply for Edward <br />Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant funds. <br />P. Fiscal Year 2014 Reorganization of Community Development Department Code <br />Compliance Division <br />Introduction: This item provides for consideration to approve a proposed staffing change to the Fiscal Year <br />2014 Adopted Budget in the Community Development Department, Code Compliance Section. <br />Background: The City's fiscal year 2014 Adopted Budget was approved on September 23, 2014. The <br />Adopted Budget approved positions and funding for the following Code Compliance Section positions: <br />Code Compliance Supervisor <br />Code Comnliance Sunnort Specialist <br />Code Compliance Officer <br />Discussion: during the fiscal year there was much turnover within the Section. Due to this turnover, the Code <br />Compliance Support Specialist was temporarily promoted to Acting Code Compliance Supervisor. The <br />November 2013 Classification and Compensation Study resulted in an upgrade of the support specialist <br />position to a Code Compliance Coordinator. The Code Compliance Coordinator and the senior Code <br />Compliance Officer worked well together to ensure the Code Compliance processes were properly <br />implemented. <br />Recently, the more senior Code Compliance Officer resigned. The remaining Code Compliance Officer has <br />seven months of code compliance experience. The grade for a Code Compliance Officer is A36 with a salary <br />
