CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION Minutes of February 22, 2021 — Regular Meeting Page 6 of 14 BA #21-023 Explanation of Request: This item seeks City Commission approval to provide funding for Task Authorization #8 with SK Consortium for Secret Lake Park additional design services in the amount of $8,454. Account Number Account Description Amount Increase: 307-0000-381.10-01 Transfer from Fund 001 $8,454 307-0410-572.63-24 Improvements Other $8,454 001-0190-581.91-37 Transfer to Fund 307 $8,454 Decrease: 001-0410-572.56-00 Small Tools & Minor Equipment $8,454 Recommendation: The City Manager and the Public Works Director recommended approval of Task Authorization #8 with SK Consortium, Inc. and related Budget Amendment #21-023 to provide for additional professional design services for PW 1907 Secret Lake Park Improvements project. Discussion: Commissioner Meadows asked for clarification of the purpose of Task Authorization #8 when the project was at 30% on preliminary design plans and some minor changes and deletions had been made to get within the proposed budget for the project. Public Works Director Mark Gisclar explained that Task Authorization #8 had been driven by the nine recommendations made by the City Commission at the previous workshop relating to the project which included: widening of the entrance to the Recreation Center from twelve (12) feet to eighteen (18) feet; designing a new canopy which including lighting; adding similar canopies on the east and west approaches to the building; and adding landscape up -lighting on the building and also on the back patio. He added that these changes were not in the original scope for the project that had been given to SK Consortium and the architect for the project Borelli + Partners, and Task Authorization #8 was to include the additional scope for the project. MOTION: Commissioner Meadows moved to approve Task Authorization #8 with SK Consortium, Inc. for Additional Professional Design Services for Secret Lake Park Improvements Project and Related Budget Amendment #21-023. Motion was seconded by Vice Mayor Busch. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote 4-0. 8. DISCUSSION ITEMS A. Future Agenda Items Vice Mayor Busch suggested a future agenda item for the purpose of looking at the potential of making the City Commission meetings available by internet connection due to the current COVID-19 environment.
