CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of July 27, 2020 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 8 of 15 <br />Budget Impact: Approval of Budget Amendment #20-046 will increase both the Law Enforcement <br />Operating Supplies/JAG 2020 -VD -BX -0706, account #001-0610-521.52-17, and the Justice Assistance <br />Grant/JAG 2020 -VD -BX -0706 account #001-0000-331.22-17 by $34,314. <br />BA #20-046 <br />Explanation of Request: This Budget Amendment seeks City Commission approval to recognize the <br />Grant awarded by U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) Coronavirus Emergency Supplemental Funding <br />(CESF) in the amount of $34,314 to reimburse the City for expenditures and for future expenses related to <br />preparing for and responding to the coronavirus. <br />Account Number Account Description Amount <br />Increase: <br />001-0610-521.52-17 Operating Supplies/ JAG 2020 -VD -BX -0706 $34,314 <br />001-0000-331.22-17 JAG 2020 -VD -BX -0706 $34,314 <br />Recommendation: The City Manager and the Police Chief recommended acceptance of the award through <br />the U.S. Department of Justice Coronavirus Emergency Supplemental Funding Program in the amount of <br />$34,314 and approval of related Budget Amendment #20-046. <br />O. Application for the 2020 AAA Florida Traffic Safety Grant Program <br />Introduction: The submittal of an application to AAA for their 2020 AAA Florida Traffic Safety Grant <br />Program may result in grant funding of up to $10,000 for use by the City of Casselberry Police Department <br />for traffic safety-related equipment and/or initiatives. <br />Budget Impact: There is no impact to the City Budget at this time. <br />Recommendation: The City Manager and the Police Chief recommended approval to participate in the <br />grant application for 2020 AAA Traffic Safety grant funds. <br />P. Employee Health Insurance Renewal for Fiscal Year 2020-2021 <br />Introduction: Approval provides for renewal of City employees' health insurance coverage from United <br />Healthcare for Fiscal Year 2020-21. <br />Budget Impact: Funds for the City's share of employee health insurance premiums will be provided in <br />the adopted budget for FY 2021 in the applicable Health Insurance Expenditure account for each <br />department. <br />Recommendation: The City Manager and the Administrative Services Director recommend approval of <br />the negotiated renewal for health insurance coverage with United Healthcare at an increased rate of 8% for <br />FY2020-21. <br />
