(2) Commercial containers. All commercial garbage deposited in commercial containers <br />must be placed in plastic bags, garbage container liners or other containers that may be <br />approved by the Citygoveming agent. Any commercial establishment not using <br />containers owned by the City or a franchiseed-ageit must furnish containers which are <br />adequate to hold all garbage. The City reserves the right to furnish containers owned by <br />the City to all commercial establishments. It shall be the duty of theCitv to <br />regulate the placement of all City -owned containers. When City -owned containers are <br />furnished to commercial establishments, the commercial establishments shall use the <br />furnished containers exclusively. <br />(d) Prohibited commercial receptacles. No commercial trash or garbage shall be <br />deposited in or collected from an open bin, trash room, oil drum, box or any other receptacle <br />not authorized in this Section. <br />(e) Disposal of ashes. Ashes shall be cooled for 24 hours before depositing the ashes in any <br />commercial container. Any establishment depositing hot ashes in any container within the <br />City which cause damage to the container shall be responsible for the costs of replacing that <br />container. <br />(f) Maintenance. All r-eflise containers shall be maintained and kept in a sanitary condition by <br />the owners. Any containers which fail to meet these sanitary standards are declared to be a <br />nuisance and shall be condemned and disposed of upon order of the Cit <br />v <br />(g) Recycling containers. The City or its franchisee shall provide recycling containers for <br />holding residentially -generated recyclable materials at the curbside. Only recyclable <br />materials shall be stored in these recycling containers, until collected in accordance with this <br />Chapter. To be eligible for pickup, recyclable materials must be put in the recycling <br />container. Newspapers shall be put in the recycling bin, placed_in a kraft paper bag or be <br />securely tied in a bundle and placed on top of or next to the recycling container in a manner <br />to prevent blowing as litter. <br />See. 70 37.
