CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of January 27, 2020 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 8 of 13 <br />Planning; & Zoning Commission <br />The Planning & Zoning Commission consists of seven members with one alternate. Three regular members <br />and one alternate member have applied for reappointment. Ms. Shannon Campbell and Mr. Dan Hale are <br />regular members who are each eligible for reappointment to a second full term. Mr. Robert Phillips is a <br />regular member eligible for a third full term, and Mr. Ed Bowman is the alternative and is eligible for a first <br />full term. All terms would be for two years, effective through January 31, 2022. <br />MOTION: Vice Mayor Hufford moved to reappoint Shannon Campbell and Dan Hale as <br />regular members, each for a second full term, Rob Phillips as a regular <br />member for a third full term, and Alva (Ed) Bowman as the alternate member <br />for a first full term to the Planning & Zoning Commission, all terms effective <br />through January 31, 2022. Motion was seconded by Commissioner <br />Aramendia. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote 5-0. <br />Ms. Gardner advised that there is one vacancy to be considered for a regular appointment to the Planning <br />& Zoning Commission due to terming out of former member Mr. Ed Bakalla. Board Policy provides that <br />the City Commission first consider appointment of the alternate member to any regular member vacancy, <br />so the Commission may consider alternate member Mr. Ed Bowman for the appointment. Term would be <br />effective through January 31, 2022. <br />MOTION: Commissioner Aramendia moved to appoint Alva (Ed) Bowman as a regular <br />member to the Planning & Zoning Commission for a first full term, effective <br />through January 31, 2022. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Meadows. <br />Motion carried unanimously by voice vote 5-0. <br />Ms. Gardner advised that the appointment of Mr. Bowman as a regular member now opened up the alternate <br />position and there were two applicants who had applied for consideration to fill the vacancy: Ms. Nancy <br />Rudner, whose primary choice was for the Lakes Management Advisory Board, but who had also applied <br />for the Planning & Zoning Commission, the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board and the City Tree <br />Advisory Committee; and Ms. Michelle Saporito, who had only applied for the Planning & Zoning <br />Commission. This appointment would be for the alternate position for a first full term, effective through <br />January 31, 2022. <br />MOTION: Vice Mayor Hufford moved to appoint Michelle Saporito as the alternate <br />member to the Planning & Zoning Commission for a first full term, effective <br />through January 31, 2022. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Busch. <br />Motion carried unanimously by voice vote 5-0. <br />Parks & Recreation Advisory Board <br />The Parks & Recreation Advisory Board is a five -member board, and Ms. Gardner reminded the City <br />Commission that they had added an alternate position last year. Two regular members and the alternate <br />member are eligible for reappointment. Ms. Katy Farmer and Ms. Courtney Icenhower are regular members <br />who are each eligible for appointment to a second full term, and Ms. LeAnn Nash is the alternate member <br />who is also eligible for a second full term. <br />
