CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of June 24, 2019 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 6 of 13 <br />Recommendation: The City Manager and the Police Chief recommended the full grant award of $126,453 <br />from the FY 2018 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant, which includes the City of <br />Casselberry's share of $18,065, be distributed to the Seminole County Sheriff's Office to fund their In - <br />Progress Crime Unit. <br />Excuse Absence of Vice Mayor Anthony Aramendia <br />Introduction: Vice Mayor Anthony Aramendia has advised that he will be out of town and unable to <br />attend the June 24, 2019 Regular City Commission meeting. He has respectfully requested that his Excuse <br />of Absence be placed on the Consent Agenda for consideration. <br />Audience Participation: No one came forward to address the Consent Agenda. <br />MOTION: Commissioner Busch moved to approve the Consent Agenda, as presented. <br />Motion was seconded by Commissioner Hufford. Motion carried <br />unanimously by voice vote 4-0. <br />8. DISCUSSION ITEMS <br />A. Future Agenda Items <br />Commissioner Busch shared that at his recent Florida League of Cities training he had learned about the <br />annual E. Harris Drew Municipal Official Lifetime Achievement Award which is given to an elected <br />official who has performed in an outstanding manner and has made an unusual and lasting contribution to <br />the improvement of municipal government. Nominations are submitted by elected municipal officials for <br />one of their members they feel meet these criteria and is awarded at the Florida League of Cities Annual <br />Conference in August of each year. He requested that the City Commission consider nominating Vice <br />Mayor Anthony Aramendia for this award for his work over the years on the EarthFest event, and his work <br />with other non-profit organizations on behalf of the City including Habitat for Humanity and the Seminole <br />Arts Council, The City Commission expressed support for the nomination of Vice Mayor Aramendia for <br />the award and directed staff to work with Commissioner Busch to complete and submit the application by <br />the deadline date of July 12th should he meet all the award criteria. <br />No future agenda items were presented for consideration. <br />B. Municipal Advisory Committee (Metroplan) Report <br />No report. <br />
