CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of February 12, 2018 — Workshop <br />Page 6 of 7 <br />Basketball court is being resurfaced. Tennis court is being resurfaced and will include <br />striping for pickleball. <br />No additional funding is needed. <br />Greenway Trail_ <br />City Commission assigned tentative amount of: <br />1. $2 million to expand trail system <br />Staff recommendations: <br />Several opportunities exist but much further study needed <br />Recommend no further action at this time <br />Casselberry Golf Club <br />• Cost for a 6,000 square foot Clubhouse/restaurant is estimated to be $1.5 million to $1.8 <br />million <br />• Recommend construction of new Clubhouse/restaurant across the street from the current <br />facility <br />• Drainage issues exist on Hole #1 and Hole #2 which would involve a project on extensive <br />wetland area which is not owned by the City <br />• More study is needed <br />• No further action is recommended at this time <br />Discussion: Discussion ensued regarding the various proposed enhancements for the selected parks, including <br />clarification that the CRA (Community Redevelopment Agency) is funded separately and the possibility there <br />may be CRA funds available that could be used to assemble land for a parking structure to support a cultural <br />events center; whether expansion of the Art House would be on same location and whether it would be <br />renovated or a new building built; clarification that the Art House would not be part of the cultural events <br />center; possibility of acquisition of land to the north of Secret Lake Park and expansion of the park in the <br />future; phased development of the projects; enhancements at Dew Drop Park possible with additional funding, <br />including additional parking spaces; possibility of future acquisition of property adjacent to Sunnytown Park <br />for additional parking; prioritizing elements of the Northeast Industrial Park projects for funding purposes and <br />phased development approach; affect that development of the Northeast Industrial Park into an active park <br />would have on surrounding properties; proposed locations of the various elements of the Northeast Industrial <br />park project and possible future inclusion of a community garden; striping of tennis courts for both tennis and <br />pickleball; possibility of future night lighting at Lake Hodge Park and potential cost; proposed new clubhouse, <br />restaurant and pro shop at Casselberry Golf Club on the footprint of the original clubhouse and the potential for <br />using the facility for events; and potential for future redesign of the actual golf course. <br />Mr. Newlon concluded by advising that even with the additional information provided by staff and the <br />additional feedback from the City Commission there was still much to consider in moving forward, including <br />
