CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of February 13, 2017 — Workshop <br />Page 5 of 6 <br />Intergovernmental Coordination <br />Update the Element's supporting data and analysis to evaluate any changes since the <br />last update and project future trends <br />Review process for ongoing dialogue with state agencies such as FDEO (Florida <br />Department of Economic Opportunity), FDEP (Florida Department of Environmental <br />Protection), FDOT (Florida Department of Transportation), and SJRWMD (St. Johns <br />River Water Management District) <br />Continue to work closely with regional partners, such as: MetroPlan Orlando, <br />LYNX, and East Central Florida Regional Planning Council <br />Continue to work closely with local jurisdictions, such as: Seminole County (and <br />sister cities), Orange County, Maitland <br />Public School Facilities <br />Update the Element's supporting data and analysis to evaluate any changes since the <br />last update and project future trends <br />Continue working with the Seminole County Public Schools to update the current <br />Interlocal Agreement (ILA) <br />• Consider simplifying policies to focus on reference to and implementation ofthe ILA <br />and concurrency requirements, if desired by the City <br />• City may consider deleting this Element, as it is deemed "optional" by Florida <br />Statutes <br />8. Capital Improvements <br />Update Goals, Objectives and Policies to ensure consistency with updates to the <br />Transportation, Infrastructure, Recreation and Public School Facilities Elements, <br />resulting from the implementation of applicable master plan policies within those <br />elements <br />Ensure existing policies maximize the efficiency of updates to the Capital <br />Improvements Plan (CIP) to ensure the effective prioritization and funding of those <br />improvements <br />Recreation & Open Space <br />This element will be updated by another firm to reflect the priorities and guidance established <br />by the Parks & Recreation Master Plan that they are preparing. <br />10. Sustainability <br />New element being drafted by the UCF Capstone Program <br />Discussion: Discussion ensued in which Ms. Ghioto, City Planner Emily Hanna and City Manager Randy <br />Newlon responded to questions regarding the City's golf course; conservation ofwetlands and environmentally <br />sensitive areas; connecting the planned neighborhood districts into the goals for the Housing Element of the <br />Comprehensive Plan; housing diversification and incentives; preservation vs. conservation; Interlocal <br />
