CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION
Minutes of January 9, 2017 — Regular Meeting
Page 9 of 10
A. Procurement Information Report for the period 11/01/2016 through 11/30/2016
Mr. Newlon advised that the Procurement Information Report for the period 11/01/2016 through 11/30/2016
was included in the agenda packet for the Commissioners' review.
• Thanked the Commission for their evaluations and kind comments, and for approving a 3%
salary increase for him.
• Requested input and discussion on what type of identifying marker the Commission would
like to see on the entrance feature at U.S. Highway 17-92 and Triplet Lake Drive, and
whether the Commission desired to continue use of the current logo depicting three ferns, or
whether they would favor a new logo, or no logo at all.
Discussion: After a lengthy discussion, the consensus of the Commission was to direct staff to move ahead
with providing an identifying marker for the entrance columns at the intersection of Triplet Lake Drive and
U.S. Highway 17-92 which would be vertical with lighting and include the name of the city, but not necessarily
include a logo. It was agreed the font should match that used on the flyover to provide consistency. In
addition, it was agreed that staff would look into either modernizing the current logo or developing a new logo
more in tune with the City's current identity; creating a short tag line which could be used on signage; and
creating rules pertaining to the appearance and use of any logo or tag line.
No report.
16.
